“Wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

The place is atleast 5 miles from the highway when you are driving to or from Fairbanks. The location is little interior away from the highway hustle and can offer a quiet solace but you might end up driving a lot to find a place to eat. Palmer and Wasilla are equdistant from this place so that way you have a choice.

The inn is on a hill and when we (a couple) landed there around 730pm on a rainy, glum evening we were actually kind of spooked by the whole location and the eerie silence around it. Once we were welcomed by the owner tracy, we felt comfortable and noted that we would be the only guests for the night.

There are seperate rooms on both sides of a vast kitchen and dining room. We later realised that they let out this place for small designer weddings. Kitchen is equipped well with everything.

The rooms are very well maintaned- neat and nice. Each room has a TV with satellite channels, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, small sink, a large closet for clothes. Also an attached bath - again very clean and well equipped.

The hall is well furnished with a tv, fire place and a huge book shelf with a great collection of NGC magazines.

Wifi in some rooms is very weak so make sure you get a room on the left side which has good signal.

Tracy made us good breakfast with pancakes, eggs, milk, cereals, fruits and juices. Ofcourse coffee too :)

There is ample space for parking and a big lawn in front to laze around if the sun is out.

The Finger lake recreation site which offers some good views and photo-ops is just the next road with only half a mile's drive till the river access point.

Overall a good place and recommended if you want to stay in Wasilla.

Tracy handled our reservation well and met us for a late check in. The 2 bed suite with handicap access was comfortable with awesome mattresses. Breakfast was eggs, bacon, blueberry pancakes buffet style and the large banquet table was friendly. The oak cabinetry was exquisite. Everything looked brand new and we enjoyed our stay.

Alpine Rose Inn was beautiful. Super comfortable bed, everything you need. Tracy is super nice and helpful. Made Eggs Benedict for us for breakfast. It is nice to support a family business. This family put their heart and soul into building Alpine Rose Inn -- and it shows. We had a momma moose walking around outside our door. Amazing.

We had the two bedroom room -- nice, very large. One thing, though, we were next to the kitchen, where all of the guests gather for breakfast. It is good to wake up by 8:00 am, because there are people making noise in the kitchen!

Room Tip: Two bedroom has its own entrance -- super nice, very spacious. However, it has rooms above and you...

We knew nothing about Alaska except that we had family in Palmer. We felt lucky to find this great place in its central location in the Mat-Su Valley. We were able to strike out and explore in all directions and come back each evening to a clean, comfortable room. Tracy gave us a delicious breakfast every morning and all kinds of informative background and good advice. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Alaska and the Alpine Rose Inn had a lot to do with it.

Room Tip: Our room on the second floor on the south side had a great view of Pioneer Peak.

Wonderful place to stay. We could even due our laundry! There is also a media room that practically sound proof. The whole place is beautiful, clean and clutter free. Our room has a private bathroom and I love it. Our hostess is so hospitable and welcoming that on a cold day as this one she was a beacon of warmth for us. You will definitely love your stay here! Carmen H.

Room Tip: All rooms are super quiet.

This place is wonderful! I've been to 2 weddings there. The grounds provide a beautiful view of the mountains, and the Inn provides wonderful rooms for the guests, as well as room for the reception (whether indoors our outdoors). The rooms are fixed up very nicely and have all the modern conveniences. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a nice, comfortable place to stay during their Alaska visit, as well as for those Alaskans (such as my husband and I) who need to provide extra space that is clean and comfortable for visiting guests and family from outside. The family has done everything to make sure it is clean, comfortable, and convenient for their guests. It is also a beautiful place to have a wedding!

Room Tip: Having used and attended two family weddings at the Inn, I can say that any room that you get will b...
