Our family stayed in two rooms for two nights. These two rooms shared a bath, so I wouldn't have stayed here if I had to share a bath with a stranger - not my idea of a good time. But for this situation, it was perfect. Both the two rooms on the second floor and the three rooms on the first floor are contained to themselves, so it was just our family with a quiet and secluded area. The rooms were very clean and appointed well enough. The shades were good enough to make the room dark for sleeping in spite of the midnight sun.
Breakfast was great for our situation. Laura works, so she lays out the breakfast the night before. Lots of cereals, fruit, juice, milk, coffee and a couple of sweets, including some homemade muffins. This allows you to have breakfast on your schedule rather than the B&B owner's schedule. The second floor is open to guests - where breakfast is served - and is a beautiful room with a nice view.
The house is close to downtown - close enough to walk - and there is parking at the doorstep.
Laura was very nice and helpful about the area. This is one of the best bargains in Alaska.
