Again, we were (supposedly) the first group of the season ~ I think they say that to all the buses now. I'm sorry, but you can have the lovliest most well meaning staff in the village, but that means not a jot if it isn't followed through with basic proper service. The room was hot (yes, hot) the toilet gave up the ghost completely, and what's with the notice on the wall about the water on the floor not being leaky pipes ? Really ? Condensation does not flood the bathroom floor to that extent inside 5 minutes flat. I've been to Tok before and actually stayed in this very establishment. That was 15 years ago. Safe to say nothing has changed. Worth mentioning though, is the effort the gentleman in the 'restaurant' puts into his job. That poor man was in 5 different places at once while we were eating there. He was very pleasant but hopelessly overworked. He was doing orders, meals and bar work all at the same time. There were two other staffers wandering about at that time but they didn't seem at all bothered by the fact there were diners waiting over an hour for their meal. Again, Alaska ~ you are a tourist destination - you really need to get your act together.
