“Loved every minute of it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2009

be prepared to be in the middle of nowhere but that's what we wanted. It depends what you want in a holiday as to whether it's for you or not, all staff sooooo helpful. The thomson trips were expensive but that's not the hotels fault. We enjoyed the trip to Luxor but it is a long, long day. We read several reviews before we went and were a bit apprehensive but I thought the reviews we read the people were too picky. There are 9 pools although not all for swimming. 2 belong water slides and 1 is a diving pool, indoor one not too warm, the sea is warmer. We just had 4 days red flagged, the guy on the jetty really good with snorkellers, looks after you. Food exceptional, too much, daren't get on the scales, no tummy bugs for our party, lots of people forget the sun can cause upset stomachs. I could go on and on but won't, would go back tomorrow if I could, come home this morning to snow all over.

What an adventure! Lots of ups and downs. Good points... Clean, modern, quiet (apart from the Italians), hot (was around the 27 C mark). Bad points... red flagged the whole week (and I went for the snorkelling), the food gets re heated and gives you the trots, middle of the desert, terrible beaches. Tip ! If the beach is red flagged, do NOT go on a boat trip as 'she' spent an hour 'projectile vomiting', although I loved the snorkelling and free diving.

We have just returned from a week at Dreams Beach. The hotel really is in the middle of nowhere - which we knew before we got there. Great for a week's total relaxation. I wouldn't say the hotel is 5 star but is definately good value. We paid £400 each all inclusive for the week which felt like a good deal. The food was good with plenty of variety. We ate at the grill house a few times which you have to book but don't have to pay extra for. The staff there are so sweet, welcoming you with a cocktail, lighting the candle on your table and just generally making you feel very special and well looked after. We tipped using US dollars which was well appreciated, although none of the staff seemed to expect tips - we just did it as it felt right as they earn so little.
Be aware though that there is very little in the way of evening entertainment, just Elvis in the lobby - not great but very funny.
Visit Sami in the gorgeous perfume shop off the lobby - we bought 2 lots of fab perfume oils.
Our room was ok, a bit on the dismal side - could have done with a bit more lighting. Especially at this time of year as it gets dark around 5ish.
The weather was good, just a couple of days with cloud. But very very windy!!!! Managed to paddle in the clear waters of the red sea with fish nibbling our toes - fabulous.
Marsa Alam Airport is very modern and clean, also quick efficient check in on our return. My only gripe is the fact that the flight was 6 hours cooped up in a Thomsons 757. The crew that flew us down there then had to fly back to Manchester. The poor stewardesses were nearly dead on their feet after two 6 hr flights. I am surprised this is not classed as long haul and the crew get to stop over. Am also concerned re the safety aspect of this.
Other than that I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a quick week of sun and relaxation

Arrived at the Hotel to a welcome drink and towel, check in was quick and we were in our room within 10 minutes, bags followed within another 10 minutes.
Rooms were clean and well presented, id E-mailed before departure asking for gound floor and double bed, which im happy to say we recieved.
Food was plentyful and loads of choice, our party was 4 adults and none of us had any problem finding anything to eat.
we paid 150le to go to the bedoiun evening, this was money very well spent, we had entertainment belly dancer, and nubian dancers, drinks food and shisha.
We ate at the indian twice again exellent value 4 money, food was fabulous and very ample portions, cost was 500le 4 4 of us on first occasion and 420le on second.
My husband and i also went to the romatic evening in noa,s ark 340le per couple, menu was either sea food or mix grill, we both had the grill and it was beautiful.
last but not least we ate at the free Italian (once per stay) again could not fault anything, food and service were excellent
Pools, nothing to say but freezing, although i did manage a swim each day, all the tiling is now finished, so no disruption, not that we noticed any while they finished the last corner.
for an hour or so they played music at the pool, while the animation team did strecting, think it would of been nice to have it on all day, just in background.
Annimation team were great, definatly not the pushy people i had read about before, they came round and asked if we wanted to join in activities, but also say no problem if we didnt, alway helpful and polite smiling chatty in bar in evening.
We went quad biking twice during our stay 300le per person, well worht the cost, fantastic 3 hours.
I loved everything bout dreams beach, excellent value for money, go with open mind and enjoy.
Last word is nobody from our party was ill in anyway and we all ate and drank everything that was on offer

We (2 adults and 1 child age 6) have just returned home from a weeks stay at Dreams. Upon our arrival we were surprised to find that the hotel was in the middle of nowhere, there are no shops or activites outside of the hotel. You can get a cab into the town or book trips of course but we just wanted a relaxing holiday so we werent that bothered to be honest. The hotel was lovely - during our stay the winds were quite strong so we couldnt get into the sea - only on the last day was the yellow flag out which meant it was safe to swim. The beach was nice and we had no problems getting beds. The food was lovely but not much choice for children, just chips and burgers. The staff were great and really friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and they couldnt do enough for us especially my daughter. Sherif who mainly worked in the Italian rest was fantastic - we will miss him! The pool was freezing cold and took your breathe away so it was a case of just jumping in and screaming later!! The only thing i wasnt happy about was the fact that if you wanted to see some proper entertainment i.e the egyptian night you had to pay extra for it which was 150 egyptian pounds each, my daughter would have went free but i just felt that you pay all inclusive prices and have to pay to have 2 and a half hrs of entertainment with food and drink which you get free in the main restaurant just wasnt worth it.
They are building either side of the hotel, there wasnt much noise just a bit of an eye sore to see building work going on around the hotel. Overall we really enjoyed our stay - we will return to this resort but not for a few years yet, it is still developing. The staff made the holiday for us. FAB!!

we have just come back from a weeks stay and we found the place excellant the rooms spacious and clean the staff friendly and very helpful only down side was the lack of crockery in the resteraunt if you arrived after 8 for breakfast you had to go looking for cups knives and forks but it did not spoil the holiday and the food was great if you want o be waited on hand and foot do not go but if you dont mind having to fetch things yourself once in a while you will enjoy yourself we went with an open mind and had a fantastic time

We stayed at this hotel from 26/10/09-05/11/09.

The weather at this time of year is perfect, with beautiful sunny days which are not to hot, with a nice breexe to keep you cool.

The hotel check in was quick and we were given large inter connecting rooms 5301 + 5302. The only issue we had with the rooms was the fact they were on the 3rd floor and there is no lift. We were travelling with an 18 month old and the carrying of a pram, plus 18month old was a bit of a pain. The 2nd digit in your room number indicates the floor number so if you have any mobility issues its worth addressing this with reception when you are allocated a room.

The room were clean and large with 5302 having a large super king size bed, with a cot and 5301 having two single beds and a put up bed for the rest of our party. Both rooms had a colour tv with airconditioning and the TV had plenty of choice of channels.

For the first four days we were not left any water in our room, but this did change on day 5...maybe the maid sensed that a bigger tip would be left when we checked out!

The buffet in the main restaurant offered plenty of choice, the food for breakfast was good, luch I cant comment on as we never ate there, and evening meal was good. The only issue was service. This ruined the whole experience from having too wait for a knife and fork, to getting a drink. There are plenty of staff, but the way they are deployed needs to be addressed...to many tanding around looking for an opportunity to sell a trip, but actually not doing very much, and not enough clearing tables and serving drinks. As we suggested in our party those standing round trying to sell trips would be better utilised serving drinks and trying to sell at the same time, because they do nothing at the moment.

The high chairs were of a good standard, our 18 month old was never unwell. We did take our own antibacterial wipes to wipe down the table beforehand, to ensure it was clean, but they did appear to be fairly clean.

The Indian restaurant, we ate in once. There is a minimum spend of 100 egyptian £ per adult, the children were given Chicken and chips. The food and service was good, but I must warn that one of our party could not eat the vindaloo as this was too hot, to spicey! But taste is subjective. Would give this a 7/10 rating

We ate in the grill and to be honest this was a bit of a let down. (the grill is the pool snack bar at night). This serverd skewerd sea bass, chicken, lamb and squid which was bbq. The fish was the best, but the whole meal was nothing speacial. Give this a 5/10 rating.

For lunch we would eat in the pool snack bar, which serverd sald, chips, pizza, and kebabs and crepes. This was great as it was enough choice to tide you over til the evening meal.

The italian, I would highly recomend. There is no additional charge for the italian and too me the food was of a better standard to the indian. You are given choice of greek salad (?) or tomato and cheese salad, followed by soup, then lamb chops, and then desert. The was a singerr who played guitar whilst you ate, and the service was great. Would give this a 8/10 rating.

The romantic tent. This is a tent which is on the cliff edge overlooking the sea and the beach. We ate here once. I can not rate this higly enough. The food costs a minimum 300 egyptian £ per couple. The setting is amazing, as this is for you and your loved one only.It is a private dinning experince so you must book in advance. You have your own waiter for the evening and this ensures that the service is fantastic. The food was brilliant, to say there was too much is an understatement, the table was completly covered with the differrent salad starters, which by themselves would have been enough for any meal, but they are followed by soup, then a large mixed grill, then a large desert, with lots of carved fruit. To me this was the highlight of the week and if the opportunity presents itself you must take advantage. 10/10 rating. It was so good I was worried that I had signed for $300 or even £300 until check out!

The hotel pools are large and clean. They are still replacing the green felt with tiles, but they are on the final 1/5th so I would expect them to be finished in the next week or so. There are plenty of sun beds round the pool, the beach is a little harder to get a bed, as these tend to go first.

The hotel has one large slide and we had a day of trying to beat each others times using a stopwatch....8.2 secs is the record held by me. If anyone beats it let me know! Just a word of warning though, check the slide is empty yourself as on one occassion I hit a Russian who was going very slow down the slide after being told it was clear by the attendent!

The house reef is good, with a jetty to get across the coral. The flag was yellow the whole time we were there, but there was lots to sea, we even managed to see a lion fish!

The entertainment in the evening is very poor, we were in a group of 9 so didn't realyy bother us, but the shows are not up to much. Kids disco is pointless and only lasted 15 minutes!

Tummy upsets....I was ok, but 3 adults out of six did have a bad tummy at some point on the trip. We did use all preacations, like anti bacterial gel etc, the children were never unwell and we had kids of 8,4 and 18months, so maybe it is drink related?

There is nothing outide of the hotel in walking distance...so long as you are aware of this and are happy with pool+beach holidays, then this will be good for you!

Would we go again......YES! Loved it!
