“What a disgrace !”

I stayed at the Sol Y Mar Solaya dubbed as Villagio Bravo during the first week of October. The animation team is a disgrace to minimal human intelligence, yelling and screaming their heads off, loud-speakers turned to maximum, one of the team dressed like a chicken with boobs, confiscating the pool area for their kitschy entertainment continuing at night on the terrace, while they could have used the auditorium attached to the hotel.
Basic instincts of youngsters in puberty or what is this ?
Quite a number of non VIllagio Bravo guests stayed at the hotel and had to flee as soon as this bunch of miserable amateurs started their Spiel. To add insult to injury this same team also had dinner at the main restaurant jumping around and continuing their grotesque behavior. Other guests I met at the dive center staying at the neighboring hotels could hear the deafening noise also.
I hope the Jaz Group of Hotels management read on here and terminate their contract with VB and let this otherwise excellent hotel return to its true destination.

......... and the most noisy, kitschy yelling and screaming, starting at 10 am at the pool area to finnish at mid-night with more junk and schrott you can possibly imagine only shortly interrupted when the team is having a rest or trying to mend their abused vocal cords. Some of the italian younger guests seemed to like this.

Other than that this is a very nice hotel pleasantly set near the bay with a lovely stately terrace overlooking the pool area and nicely landscaped. The staff is impeccable and most efficient, the food is alright nothing special I like chicken, salads and pasta. The house wine was good to. I came for diving and requested a quiet room which was to the side of the building towards the tennis court , it had a fair sized terrace and I was happy with that. The rooms to the back at the pool area have a pleasant view towards the bay but are exposed to the "entertainment" noise . Had an interesting chat with the chief gardener about the plants, flowers, palm-trees.

The room furnishings, the bed/mattress were OK linen were changed daily, plenty of space in the closets, there is an electronic safe, TV is the old type with several channels, german, french, Al Jazeera in english, I can't remember them all. There is a kettle and a hair dryer, towels are plentiful and you get a nice large beach towel from the pool attendant. The room-man was OK no complaint. But the best is the air-conditioning system, it is quiet and shuts down/restart automatically with the set temperature in the room. I would return to this hotel if they get rid of Villagio Bravo.
Stayed 1st week of October, it was still hot 33 - 34 degree C during mid-day down to about 23 - 24 at night, the sea was at 29 according to my dive computer.

Very good location close to the airport, so, no long drive from there will be necessary. Extremely friendly and professional service (a few known words in arabic language are appreciated highly, and will be extended by the helpful staff) To talk italian with the girls and boys of the Bravo-Team its a must, even if they speak several other languages. Snorkeling around the different reefs was always possible, since the bay is a little bit sheltered from strong winds. The breakfast, lunch (either on the poolbar or the indoor restaurant) and the dinner on the terrace were absolutely satisfying and with an enormous choice of different meals. Very clean room-service, indeed all of the public places obviously in good shape and allways kept on a high standard. We felt always as warm welcomed guests and not just as paying clients. So, to give some tips from time to time was a great honour for us and a sign how much we have apreciated all the conveniences we've received. Shurely we will return again, but then for more than a week!

The hotel staff are not trained as needed for a 5 star property. I had stayed in Marsa Aram two times before and this was my 3rd stay, 1st in Sol Y Mar. It was really a painful experience. impolite staff and duty manager. I made my booking through booking.com and they didn't care what was the terms and package (this was exactly what the duty manager - Samy Abd el Rahman) told me in an arrogant way!
Check-in time took more than and hour, for any simple request, like asking for an extra pillow, waiting time exceeds 45 minutes, they do not speak English well in general. It seems they mainly target Italian and Spanish guests. Far from a rel five star and for me, extremely low when it comes to value for money. I regret my stay in Sol Y Mar!

In general we went in Sol Y Mar Der El Madina 4* (2 line), but places in him have not appeared. Have offered moving in hotel Sol Y Mar Solaya 5* (1 line). In number family superior sea view room. We did not begin to refuse. Have brought to this hotel – it metres 200. At once have dressed bracelets. Time of installation 14.00 has not come yet. Descended for a dinner, and then have received a room key and have gone to number. Number big, on 1st floor, the big 2 sleeping bed, is available the allocated children's zone for rest in which there were 2 beds. But as us was 3 (with the child) one bed was empty. A bath combined, with the per capita separated zone. In number the safe, a minibar (it was initially empty, and did not use it), TV with one Russian channel. A balcony with a fine kind on a bay of Madinat Koraya. From a balcony the path on a beach conducts.
The sea, beach: the bay of Madinat Koraya has small sandy calling for bathing of metres in 150 length. Coral slippers are not so necessary. Then there is a sharp fall of depth, along coral walls with 2-uh the parties where it is possible to swim with a mask and a tube and to observe of the diving world. The shallow part of a coral is separated by buoys, with the tense cables. There the input is forbidden, at infringement the inspector whistles in a whistle while the fenced zone will not be left. There is a pontoon for an input in water from depth for snorkeling and a pontoon club diving. In 1st day observed a sea turtle in the size about 1 m in diameter. Saw black moray eel about 2 m in length, fishes of crocodiles. These are the brightest impressions. As principal views of fishes which can be seen in Red sea are presented. On an exit from a bay along coral walls fishes is more. But there it was necessary to swim for a while for 2 weeks of time 3-4. Because of a strong wind on the sea excitement rose, and to swim in that area became problematic. But in a bay excitement practically was not felt. Though visibility became worse. On a beach of plank beds and umbrellas always in delivery, at any time it is possible to find the free. To occupy plank beds it is not accepted.
Pools, aquapark: pools in hotel 3 – 2 depth of 150 sm, one children's. Places on plank beds can be found and near pool practically always. The aquapark is located metres in 100 from hotel – an input free, hills nurseries and adults. Have few times visited. Joints in pipes are executed not everywhere smoothly, therefore probably to peel a back. It was observed on hills of lower, therefore it is better to go down without leaning strongly against a back. On high hills of the such it was not observed. A bar in an aquapark the paid.
Contingent having a rest: about 80 % Italians if it is no more, then Germans, Englishmen, Russian and others in individual quantities. The hotel is calculated on family rest.
Territory: in hotel territory there is a fitness the centre (massage, a sauna, an exercise room) – did not use. A lot of greens. Platforms for beach football, volleyball, bocha. There is a disco premise, in him there passed translation of matches of the World championship on football. Round a bay of Madinat Koraya 5 hotels are located, it is possible to walk on all this territory, round a bay there is a path. In the evenings quite comfortable temperature for rest in the open air. There is a gallery of shops near hotel Sol Y Mar Der El Madina.
A food: basically it is ground on Italians - macaroni, a spaghetti, etc. Breakfasts always one and too: pancakes, omelettes, sausages, sausages, cheese, etc. Dinners and suppers are more various. Meat always kinds 2, plus the chicken, fish. In the evenings a grill – meat, fish, has sung. Fruit: bananas, apricots, grapes, a melon, a water-melon, apples, dates, plums, oranges in various variations. Sweets – about 10 kinds. There is a children's corner. The juice of 2 kinds in my opinion restored, but to taste quite normal. Aerated water everyones, tea, coffee, cocoa. In coolers the people without ceremony pour water in small bottles to itself in number. Wine white, pink, red – so-so. Beer the casting normal on taste. For a supper in shorts it is not recommended to come.
In a bar near pool, prepare a pizza. There are drinks, ice creams, sweets, sandwiches.
Service: At restaurants and bars quite hospitable, in Russian the people know pair of words. But English will always help. Though the personnel basically understands in Italian. Number cleaning, in due time left tip and all will be apprx. If has forgotten to leave, after cleaning it was necessary to inform that there is no towel, but the call on reception solved a problem. There were problems with the hair dryer in number, few times called the electrician who quickly enough resulted all in norm. In general the firm four.
Animation: Italian and all to be told in Italian. From animators of Mario knew some words in Russian and constantly approached to Russian. Other animators only greeted basically in Italian. At theatre of representation high quality, but in Italian suffices. Competitions and musical representations it is possible to look and without transfer and so all is clear. Besides the temperament of the Italian animators adds brightness to representations. From all hotels in a bay (we went on representations and to other hotels) here the best evening shows. Children's animation is calculated only on the Italian children. At 23 o'clock there passes a small disco under the Italian songs on a verandah, but animators dance basically.
At excursion it is possible to go to the next bays about centre diving, but we too did not use them.
Departure: number surrenders till 12 o'clock. Delivery without overlays. Before departure still had time to descend for a dinner.
In general, rest has gone right, have received from it that wanted. For family rest if animation in Russian or English is not especially necessary, the hotel quite approaches.

Just returned from the Sol y Mar went with husband a 2 friends had a great time hotel nice only a year old, food fantastic, the staff really helpful and wanted you to have a nice holiday, swimming pool heated like getting into a bath looovely
