We travelled as a couple for a very needed holiday and we chose this hotel after reading the reviews. All the good ones were right....and I could not justify the very few bad ones. This hotel is perfect, its extremely clean in all areas, public and private.
The staff is polite, helpful and friendly, with or without tips...
The activities are diverse and they even organise a yoga class every other day which I think they should advertise as this is a great plus to me.
The food was very good, very diverse and always fresh regardless of the time you decided to eat at.
The beach is lovely and quiet and the various colourful fish are only inches away from the shore which made the snorkelling amazing. I also tried the dive at the Coraya Divers just around the bay and it was fantastic too.
For those like us who prefer a quiet night in to the entertainment, there are 2 movie channels in English so plenty to watch there.
The room was big and comfortable and the daily towel art a nice plus.
My only negative point to make this review constructive and balanced is that as a non smoker and admittedly pretty smoke intolerant, I did not enjoy the fact that the pool bar and the A la Carte restaurant allowed smoking as they are outdoor only. This means that our only romantic candle lit meal at AL Fayrouz was ruined by a table of 6 guests chain-smoking throughout. At the end, the waiter who saw I could not breathe any more offered to change the table which we did so we could enjoy our dessert and only swallow the chocolate without the smoke. I understand that the people to blame were the rude inconsiderate smokers and not the hotel staff but I believe that all eating areas should be non smoking...in and out.
Apart from this pet hate, the place offered us an unforgettable holiday and I wish I could back already!

we went here on the 5th feb 13 and we battled a snow blizzard to do it from Scotland to Manchester airport for the flight, we nearly gave up driving half way down the road due to all the snow, but were so glad we didnt, as the hotel surpassed our every expectation,from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty and everyone was superb, the food was wonderful with something that would suit all tastes, and very varied with different things every night, they have shows on with dancers [and even a fire eater]every night, water aerobics,beach on the doorstep, 3 lovely pools,a place where you can get a book if you just want to chill and have a read, spa facilities/indoor pool etc,chess and sports/diving, lots of lovely quiet spots you can just sit and relax at and see the scenery across the bay, lovely rooms where the sheets etc are changed every day and they do wonderful animals and things out of the towels to sit on your bed, its a very clean place, and they had a goodbye drink night [complementry] with us on leaving and gave us various gifts to keep as a reminder of our visit. They have a few small shops on site but there is a bigger shopping area up the road a bit which we only saw on the way back to the airport which is 10mins away not that you hear any planes at all from the Coraya its very quiet and peaceful, and you can have a lovely walk round the bay to a few shops across from the lamaya hotel where it is cheap for water and coke if you want extra for you fridge mini bar.All in all a superb place to go if you want to relax, eat good food, yummy desserts and be spoiled [loved Osama in the restaurant who knows how to make his customers feel special and have a laugh with them, a lovely guy] this is the first review i,v ever done and trust me if there was anything wrong anywhere i,d be the first to let you all know so go here and have fun in the sun, be aware though it gets very hot here and we got sun burned quite a bit even with factor 30 on, so drink plenty of water or juice to keep hydrated.Marsa alam airport is a great Airport and the quickest airport i,v ever been in for getting out of quickly all in all it took about 20minutes to get through customs and onto our transfer coach [and you will pay an entry fee but for a lovely week away here its worth it , I think it was about 15or 20 pounds entry into the country ]. You can also get tours from this hotel or just go on some from Thomsons who we went with. We didnt get hassled to buy anything anywhere either here which was good . I hope you all enjoy this lovely place [and money willing we will go back here again[ but next time i would fly to Manchester in winter].

Lovely hotel, fantastic food and great location. Just 10 mins transfer front airport, but really peaceful. Coral reef just 25 feet from beach so great snoring. Couldn't fault it. Would definitely go back and would recommend to friends.

We were taken, as a treat, to this lovely resort by our daughter & what a treat it was! The attention to detail, cleanliness, friendliness & professionalism was outstanding.
The resort is only 10 minutes away from the airport but the air noise is practically non existent. Upon arrival we were greeted by Hady, one of the managers, who made us feel very welcome. He personally showed us to our rooms where our luggage had already been delivered. The room was spacious, well appointed & spotlessly clean. Every day we returned to a beautiful towel & flower arrangement on the bed. The bed itself was large and very comfortable.
The resort has been carefully designed so that nothing is too far a walk from anything else but there's a feeling of space and openness. It's very pretty and the pools are spotlessly clean.
The meals are buffet style and the choice and quality of produce is superb, with a different theme every night and the tables and waiters dressed according to the theme.
There's a smiling member of staff to greet you at La Maha every morning and evening and it was a real pleasure to receive attentive but unobtrusive service from our waiters, Ahmed and Mouhamed. They were both extremely helpful and courteous and both had a real sense of humour, as did all the staff we met.
The entertainment every evening was professional, varied and fun with some excellent routines. The Animators who entertained us at night also provided plenty of activities during the day whilst also amusing the children.
At the beach there was snorkelling with wet suits and all the gear needed for hire and a pier where the water is so clear you could see a variety of colourful fish on the coral reef.
The evening before we left, we were invited to a reception which was a very nice touch and much appreciated, and on the day of departure we were given an Egyptian painting and Hady gave us a bookmark with our names written in Arabic.
We had a fabulous week & I really didn't want to come back to reality! In fact we were so impressed by the hotel and resort that we are returning next February for a two week stay!!
