“CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR IN THE SUN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

We have just returned from a magical Christmas and New Year at this hotel. The staff in all departments were excellent, friendly and willing. Fom the time we arrived until the time we left we could not criticize one thing. We celebrated Christmas eve with a cocktail party, put on by the hotel round one of the pools, followed by an amazing dinner in the dinning room. New Year was celebrated by another cocktail party round the pool area, followed by dinner in a special marquee
this was a really magical evening
The rooms are spotless, location great, our first time in Egypt first time all inclusive would certainly recommend it

Visited this hotel in febuary, which means it is quiet and no kids running around. We had a superior room and it is what it says on the label, one of the best rooms we have stayed in. The bed was gigantic and the male maid was superb. Our balcony over looked the pool and was very tranquil in the evening prior to going for our evening meal. The food and dining experience was very good and the waiters looked after us very well. They were building a new part of the dining hall whilst we were there and this was curtained off but did not interfere with our holiday at all. When this extra space is finished I imagine the dining facilities will be out of this world.
The pools were clean and sunbeds plentiful. The beach clean and tidy and the snorkling was very good with two reefs either side oof the bay to swim along, very good.
Highly recommeded for couples wanting a break with some peace and quiet, but tell everyone because they will all come. This is egypt as it should be nice and chilled and not like Sharm where it is all go go go

Room Tip: A tip early in your stay goes a long way.

often all inclusive holidays can feel a bit shabby or depressing. this is not the case at all at the coraya beach resort. Staff is truly wonderful, smiling, prompt with a good attitude. location is also great. in a bay protected form the the wind with direct access to the sea. rooms are also good, modern and well furnished. take one with sea direct view. food is varied and can satisfy all appetites. go for full board. there is not much around the hotel to do or to to sea. but one would not go to marsa alam with that expectation.

Room Tip: go for the direct sea view room.

We chose this hotel because of its excellent reviews and were not disappointed. This was our third time in Egypt having previously been to Sharm and Dahab. This hotel and area was best of the three. The service was excellent and food & drink on all inclusive had lots of choice. The pool and beach areas were spacious with lots of sunbeds. My only complaint would be that people still put towels on sunbeds to reserve them despite notices asking not to do so. The hotel should really stop this practice. Also we had paid for a sea view room but were given a pool view. After asking to be moved we were shown other rooms but they were not suitable as on ground floor when we had asked for a higher floor. We asked our Thompson rep Alan to intervene and were then given a suite. A bit disappointing that the hotel did not do this straight away when we first complained. Thank you Alan. The bedding had also seen better days and although very clean was well worn. These were just small niggles but would still highly recommend this hotel and would certainly go back.

We visited Coraya Beach in October for the 4th time.
As usual service outstanding and friendly, beautiful rooms, good food and just another feelgood stay. Many guests are repeaters.
As from May 2013, this will be a hotel for 16 +.
We will see how that works out. Until now many young families visited the hotel, and that was sometimes quite a nuisance: children yelling and crying, running around in the restaurant, throwing food all ove the place. Over 16 will bring a totally different group of visitors, but again, we will have to see how it works out.
We will arrive in May for our 5th stay in this beautiful hotel. Can't wait!

I do have to comment on the wifi in the lobby.
The free wifi in the lobby is very slow. Try not to download anything, you will be frustrated in the end and and that is not the purpose of holiday, is it? ;-)
If you buy an internet-ticket (€ 6 for an hour) the speed is o.k. But why pay for the internet? If the hotel wants guests over 16, that is one of the things that have to be accepted. Everybody travels with smartphones, laptops and tablets....

WOW - Where to start? We chose this hotel based on reviews on this site and like many others we were not disappointed. We normally go to Sharm, but wanted somewhere a little quieter, and this hotel ticked all the boxes. The hotel itself is immaculate. You cannot fault the impeccable way it is maintained, however what stood right out for us was simply how friendly and how genuinally kind and caring all the staff were. Nothing was too much trouble. What we loved was the fact that the hotel is low rise, it takes only 3 minutes to walk from reception to the beach, bypassing three pools (the kids and one half of the large pools being heated) - the music by the pool is moderate so you don't feel blasted out and there is no need to worry about reserving sun loungers because there is more than enough for everyone. We sat by the pool for 2 days and then went to the beach which was so lovely. Ahmed who tends the beach is so attentive, he makes sure you have enough shelter from the sea breeze and enough shade, he puts you where you want to be and throughout the day will bring you a flower, a drink, or perhaps a ball for the children - he couldn't do enough to ensure we were happy and settled. The staff at the beach bar / diner were great fun, and the food was just perfect. My son soon cottoned onto the fact the pizzas are fab and fresh and was soon ordering them himself with his friend and the waiters weer wonderful with him.

The rooms were cleaned and were nicely laid out. Not the best we have ever had and I missed a bath, but I knew that when I booked. However we were very happy with what we had - the beds were comfy, we requested extra pillows and it was no trouble and robes and slippers were offered free. There was tea and coffee, mini bar and TV (we didn't use any, but nice to have!)

Now one strong comment. A few reviewed made reference to the entertainment. The entertainment from the animation team is very poor - laughable and unbearable. We gave it a wide bearth after a few views! However we cought some cards and dominoes and sat in the lounge bar and we had the best time ever - we adored the lie music provided by Nabill who is a wonderful singer and one of the nicest guys you could possibly wish to meet. NOTHING is too much trouble and if you have a special song, he will ensure if he has not got the music one night that he has it the next night. So, content with entertainment from Nabill we listened and occasionally danced to the music provided which despite some comments here - is very good. Nabill made out holiday by finding or wedding "special song" and on our last night calling us to the dance floor to play it - this is the things that makes great lasting wonderful memories - thank you.

The food was a massive variety - never in short supply and always something for everyone. The gala night had such an outstanding display that you almost felt disappointed because you couldn't try it all in one night! Towers of fresh shrimps, roast duck, turkey, beef, chicken and lamb, lobster and then a range of continental cuisine from around the world - AMAZING! From snacks at the beach bar, to the snacks provided through the day, pastries, cakes, proper ice cream, lollys and pizza for the children through to a wide selection of drinks - this hotel caters for every possible taste.

One thing we really liked was being able to actually use the gym and spa without the constant harrass of "do you want a massage" - in Sharm you could rarely go near the gym or sauna as this is where they were based, but here, whilst they do offer massage, its not the constant hard sell round the pool and on the beach - its there if you want it - but its not pushed on you.

The hotel has WiFi that is quite speedy! You buy a card for an hour (or day) at reception and simply log onto the hotel - very easy and very cheap. Outside the hotel are some boutique shops that are staffed by lovely none pushy people - nice to chat to them and buy a few things.

We really relaxed and enjoyed every moment of our stay. The world is a small place and whilst I would return in a heartbeat - the only reason we wouldn't is that there is a whole world that we want to see - but if we return to Marsa Alam, then we would come back here in a heartbeat and we would great recommend it to couples and small families looking to relax and soak up the sun and ambiance.

THANK YOU CORAYA - we had a lovely holiday and please thank all your staff who made the stay extra special.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the sea for a great view accross the bay - but really don't stress abo...
