“Marsa Alam Hilton Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We wanted a quiet holiday and we got this in bucket loads and more.Fabulous hotel cleanliness was exceptional (which is what you would expect from this chain anyway).Choice of food extensive and caters for all tastes. Some of the carved fruit and veg displays were outstanding. Thanks to Nabil and aaila (sorry if spelt wrong) for making our last night so memorable.Excellent beach ,short walk to public entrance into Red Sea but fully understand the need to protect the coral.Loved the 'train ' ride to the beach. Hoping to go back again later this year.

This resort is lovely clean and what you would expect from the Hilton brand.
A couple of things should be noted before you book:
1. There is absolutely nothing for miles around.
2. If you do go passed the compound the beaches are full of litter.
3. The town which is a long taxi ride away is like a ghost town with a few bars and restaurants.
4. There is little water safety or supervision for children on the beach so keep an eye on them as the currents on a couple of days were very strong.
There is no house reef guide/map to view before you go into the water.

We appreciate the time you have taken to complete a review on our hotel.

You are definitely right that this hotel is located on the beautiful Abu Dabab Bay, which is an environmental protected area and that it is not located in a commercial tourist shopping area etc. We would strongly recommend that if guests are looking for this type of resort that they research the locations and also review Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.

Sorry that you did not see the reef guide and maps. They are located on the diving centers located on our beach and the entrance of the sea.

We are not permitted to walk along the beach front on to the military zone area and this is prohibited, even to clean their rubbish.

We had great time at the Hilton Marsa Alam, from the check in ( upgraded room) till check out( late check out ). I would like to highlight the helpfulness/friendliness of the staff. My girlfriend and I where really impressed. Food wise there are enough options to choose from however additional lunch place would be beneficial. We have tried all restaurants for dinner and received great service in general particularly the Egyptian restaurant was excellent , on the other side service in restaurant by the pool ( not sure what is it called) was disappointing after previous evenings . Sea is a bit far away however shuttle available for those who don't want to walk over there. Pools were great. Our room had great sea/pool view - amazing . Our housekeeper Muhammad was extremely friendly and helpful - please pass our thank you. Entertainment was ok I see room for improvement particularly in the evening . Once again I have to highlight the staff - Nour bar supervisor was amazing at all times please pass thank you !
Over all we had great time last week therefore would definitely recommend to other potential guests.

My brother and me are divers, we love the Red Sea because it is a perfect place to see different types of fish, turtles and colorful corals. My brother chose the Hilton Marsa Alam because it is located on a beautiful beach Abudabab Bay, with clear & warm water, so beautiful, highly recommended.

I also recommend a trip to Elphinestone Reef where you can find sharks, it's a very nice place for good diving. The way to the Reef was on a speedboat, usually it takes 30 minutes. We liked it. You can book the excursion with Olga, a Russian girl who works at the diving center on the Hotel Beach, she is very nice girl and it's always pleasant to talk with her.

Some people complain that the beach is far from the Hotel, but it not true. It is a pleasant walk through the hotel gardens, also the Hotel have a car-train service that brings you to the beach if you don't want to walk 8 minutes.

The first week we have been all the day on the beach, enjoying the beauty nature of the Red Sea , but next 2 weeks we have been doing differents activities with Koki, the best person from the animation team, he makes abolutely everything; dancing, aerobics, aqua-gym, plays water polo, volleyball & also he makes the evening Shows (so difficult, he is a great artist). He is a very nice guy; very cheerful, attentive, a great professional and a great person. Thanks to him that our vacations in Hilton Marsa Alam have been absolutely magical. We love you and we miss you Koki!

In the evenings in Axis Bar the animation staff had organized different show programs and from 22:00 begins the disco. Dj Dida has a great collection of different music to dance and to have a lot of fun.

The hotel rooms are large, very clean with all the amenities of a 5 Star Hotel. Sometimes you can get relaxing on the terrace with a cup of tea or coffee, there is a kettle in each room.

Hotel staff is wonderful, they make the holidays are especially nice. We also strongly recommend testing the cocktails, milk shakes & special coffie that makes our favorite barman Mizo. You can meet him in the pool bar.

Also we liked the food, there is always a very varied dayly menu, or you can go to the one of restaurants "a la carte", they are free of pay but you need a reservation.

From 5 to 7 pm I always went to the Gym, where there are always fresh water and clean towels. There are many sporting activities in the Hotel you can choose from. This is very good,
that complete relaxation can be combined with a different sports or activities. Great!

We really like this Hotel, is perfect for relaxing, get away from the problems, our holidays have been totally wonderful.

Being in Hilton Marsa Alam is like being in a paradise, the only negative emotion was our tears when we had to board the bus and go to the airport.

Thanks to the all animation team and especially Koki for coming to tell goodbye to the hotel door when we had to leave home.

Lovely place, greatest staff & persons. Thank you all for making our holydays the best holydays in our live.

Olga

We will appreciate your detaield review and know that many future guests will also

Our Hotel is located in a fantastic location for diving on the Abu Dabab Bay and even better for the 'not so good' swimmers (ie me) who love to enter the water at a safe pace and enjoy the snorkelling.

I will ensure that your thanks is passed on to the many staff you have mentioned and they will really appreciate it.

We hope you will come back and visit us soon

I stayed there for 4 nights, its location is unique ,Abu Dabab Gulf which I believe its one of the top destinations for Divers and Snorkelers where you can see dolphins , sea cow and a very beautiful under sea world ,the staff is very welcoming .but I would say its foods and beverages is very delicious and tasty .I visited many hotels in many countries but the food introduced in this hotel is the best I ever tried ,every course and every meal is a tasty experiences
Something else ,if you go there don't forget to try the Shisha , the shisha man is professional :)

Disadvantages ,SPA is under construction, Main pool is not heated in winter
No free shuttle bus to air port

We supposed to go to this hotel for seabathing, but it turned out to be poolbathing near the poolbar for the most of time. The way to the hotel's sea beach is long and trafficked by hotel's minitrain. There of course exists a lot of free parasols and sunbeds, BUT to go bathing you need to walk to another private beach because of the protected coral reef which lies all the way along the Hilton beach. Not convinient at all!
So we found ourselves lounging by the heated pool nearby to our rooms. There are 1 big and 3 smaller pools, 2 of them are heated to 30 C in the winter. Good sunbeds, parasols and sand around the smaller pools. Every pool has a poolbar, a few have a music accompanement also.So for those who likes to have a new drink every X minutes or be animated by the Animation team, this hotel is a good choice.
The all-inclusive restaurant, or dining room, has no much variation in our opinion, and personnel make hard effort to shorten your dining as much as possible and prepare lunch tables during the breakfast and dinner tables during the lunch.
Must mention that rooms with a seaview are more likely rooms with a limited seaview, as the hotel does not stand by the sea.
Hotel is a very good choice in a winter months when it is mostly windy by the sea, but by the smaller pools you can find windfree spot for sunbathing.

Room Tip: There are room positions for every taste, just ask in reception if you prefer calm or active environ...
