“Almost excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

I spent a week at he Resta Grand with my mum in December. On arrival the hotel is clean and you are offered a drink before being taken to your room on a golf buggy. The reception staff then call the room to check you are happy with everything. The rooms are very clean and has everything you would need really. The only thing I could fault is the beds are hard but that's preference and some people was finding them very comfortable.

Due to the time of year there were hundreds of sunbeds free and towels are provided. The pool staff are excellent giving drinks before you have even ordered and they was never asking for tips like I have experienced in other hotels. They also bring ice cream at 1pm in all different flavours. The pool is lovely although I never got in plenty of people was using the heated pool. They do try and sell various things to you from massages to quad biking and a la carte restaurants which are not included in the all inclusive. I know they are trying to make money but after two days of them asking me every couple of hours I did tell them I've said no already. They keep telling you it's not a lot of money but the consensus of most people around the pool was if they gave you one a la carte meal in your all inclusive they might have more luck.

The food in the restaurant wasn't the best. It was never hot but they do seen to be trying to improve by asking guest opinions. You can also get your own drinks which I did the last few days after my mum telling a waiter to back off me my drinks didn't seem to come as quick.

Overall this hotel was lovely and with just a few improvements could live up to its five stars.

“Fantastic second visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

This was the second time we have visited and the hotel has improved along with the service, that's not saying the first time it was poor. All the staff were fantastic from the reception to the gardener's, always there to assist and help. The animation team are a great team and if you embrace what they do it really does enhance the holiday from Francesco and his super competitive water polo and football to Sophie and fay with their pool aerobics and yoga.
I would say that the hotel should promote the other restaurants and extras more as all are good even though they are additional to the fully inclusive price. Mohamed and the team at the Plato restaurant made our holiday Mohamed was fantastic and we will always remember the two nights we spent there, hence the profile photo.
The evening entertainment is good but could do with some seating away from the main area for those who do not want to listen To the music, there was seating last time visited on the second level from the main seating area with sofas and rocking chairs that has been moved, which was a shame as this did give you a great place to sit after dinner and enjoy a sheesha.
We will defiantly visit again and can't wait to book up !!

“Good hotel - food needs improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

Got back late Wednesday night had a wonderful time at the Resta, weather was great (1 day cloudy so can't complain). Gardens were beautiful, rooms clean (hope you like a hard bed), staff were great round the pool in fact probably the best staff I have ever come across definately no dehydration here!. Little problem with the food as everything was cool never hot - breakfast was definately the best meal of the day with the omlette chef. Travelled with my 21 year old daughter and had to tell a waiter in the restaurant not to touch! prior this the service there was quick went down quickly from him after, mind you he was the only one. Reception staff was great with no problems in keeping our room on. We didn't go on the beach but had a look and there was quite steep steps and slopes to get down there so you are better off round the pool. All in all good holiday - even the airport was painless. By the way no toilets round the pool so you have to go back to your room or use the toilets in reception. Probably won't return but only due to the beach and food but don't let this put you off.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good so wherever you get be happy (we were ground floor) but remember no toilets r...

“wow what a place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

Just retunred from the Resta Grand Resort at Marsa Alam. What a find this place is, only 10 minutes transfer from the airport but a world away in peace and quiet. Based on a large and well kept site with flowers shrubs and trees to admire as well as acres of well kept lawns. The staff are very welcoming and are genuinely pleased to help you. The room we had was immaculate with a great sea view - The Red Sea was only yards away - and the common areas and grounds were spotless. Food covers all options and the all inclusive option was more than enough with some interesting cocktails as well as all the local drink. Even if you went off the all inclusive menus the prices were very modest. Plenty of activities if you want them - great offers on Snorkelling and Scuba Diving, but you were also left alone to chill if that is what you fancied. The Manager Aldo runs a great place here and we shall certainly return.

Room Tip: The Sea Views are well worth the modest premium. You can't beat waking up to open the curtains o...

“Excellent resort with very friendly and welcoming staff - well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

We got back from our holiday yesterday and felt compelled to write a review on how nice our experience of the Resta Grand was.

We stayed for 1 week and had a lovely relaxing time. The resort itself is very clean, tidy and set on a lovely part of the red sea. The resort gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The pool area felt very spacious and not crowded. The hotel has a nice calm and relaxing atmosphere and is perfect for those looking to relax and unwind.

We found all of the hotel staff to be very welcoming and friendly. In particular the 'space restaurant' staff were always very chatty and keen to make you feel at home.

We would recommend staying at this hotel as you won't be disappointed!
