Was there for two nights (5/6 - 5/7). Very nice experience.

We two were the only ones on the incoming shuttle truck, and we were greeted as if the truck was full. A staff member met us at the truck as we got off. She had cool scented towels for us, and gave us cool drinks before check in. She gave us a runthrough of the property before escorting us to our suite, where out luggage was waiting for us at the front door.

The property is amazing. The water closest to the beach isn't the clearest, but 30 feet offshore it begins to clear up. The water is full of fish, and it's fun to take bread from the buffet to feed them from the pier.

Saw quite a few holes in the ground near the suites. Landcrabs. Almost stepped on one while walking the sidewalk one night.

The suites are nice. Bed was uncomfortable. Very firm. Could feel the springs. There was a cobweb in the shower. A/C works great. Too bad there's no mesh screen barrier for the sliding glass back door. It would have been nice to have been able to leave the glass door open at night. Careful when sliding that glass door closed while outside when the front door is bolted. If the glass door closes all the way it autolocks, and I can't imagine how to get back in if that happens. Our suite, Number 11, was very close to the ocean. The edge of the back porch was about 20 feet from the water.

Television is limited to about five all-French channels, and CNN International headline news in English.

There's a digital safe and a small fridge in the suites. The bathroom accessories like shampoo, conditioner and lotion are in small corked plastic bottles. It you like taking these home with you, bring adhesive tape to tape the corks down.

The suites are surrounded by beach sand, so expect to bring sand in with you. The floor is tiled and is easy to collect sand.

There were mostly Italians, French and New Zealand citizens there. Was told by a property staff member the Italians were big complainers about the food offered in the buffet. The food there was good. We got lobster one night. Not the U.S. style, but tinier spiny lobster.

The resort may want to consider educating diners as to the proper way to deal with buffet-style dining. Saw an American using his bare hands to drop celery into the community juicer, another man handle a loaf of bread with his hands while cutting a slice, people often ignoring serving utensils to reach for food with hands, and people often allowing the entire serving spoon to slide into the food trays, allowing the handle to make contact with the food. Not good.

The wait staff was 100 percent Polynesian women. Most of them were slightly rude at first. It was little things, like reaching in front of us to retrieve plates, instead of walking around the other side of the table to do so; generally treating the guests as if we were in their way. They never smiled, nor even said "hello". I spoke to the property Manager about this, and the change in the attitude of the wait staff was immediate and 180 degrees. No problems after that.

While getting on the shuttle truck to leave, again staff was right there. Everyone leaving was given a small bottle of cold water and a shell necklace. A small group saw us off, waving goodbye as the truck headed away. A Club Med rep went with the group, and stayed with us during the shuttle ride to the pier, the boatride to the airport, up until we got on the plane to Papeete. Club Med is a topnotch organization. They treated their guests with care and respect.

“Loved it”

Club Med Bora Bora

We just returned from a trip to Club Med Bora Bora. We had a terrific time! We found the staff to be extremely hospitable and tolerant of a rather large group of obnoxious Americans who were visiting concurrently. We had a very nice time. If you are interested in watersports, hiking and appreciating the beauty of this exotic island, you will LOVE IT!
We visited several other hotels on the island, and although they were elegant and austere, there was nothing going on at any of them at any time - save for the sedated guests staring over their cocktails out to the horizon...
If you want some fun, an active vacation and would like to meet some really nice people and staff, go to Club Med.

“Club Med? How about Club "NO!"”

I hope this helps someone from making the mistake of a lifetime. I just returned from Club Med in Bora Bora with a rather larger group. One would think that as a group at least one of us would have found the resort worth while, but we all give Zero's across the board. The staff was extremely rude, inauspicious, uninviting, and down right inhospitable. The “bungalows” are basically cabins one might find at a children’s sleep away camp. Inside our “upgraded” cabin we had no hot water, and bed made for a torture chamber. Actually they were two small beds pushed together. Just imagine sleeping on the sidewalk with springs poking you in the back and you will get the picture. The food was ok at times, but buffet style only. The hours are very strictly adhered to. In fact there were several cases of staff members taking food from guests, clapping to guests to get them to hurry out, physically pulling the plug out of the coffee machine to stop a guest from getting one for the road and the list goes on. I recall one member of our group, who is pregnant, asking for a sandwich because she couldn’t wait until 7:30 pm when dinner started. They told her “No” to her face over an over. They advertise a snack menu at the bar, but it not always available, and even when available you get knock off Pringles, Doritos, and Lays potato chips. The bar was frequently “out of” many of the beers available, and couldn’t make a cocktail to save their life. Hasn’t anyone ever heard of a Martini there? Please consider this a warning to stay away from Club Med, or as we commonly referred to it as Club No!

Oh yea, the island is beautiful, so go to Bora Bora, just find a better resort.

“Awesome stay”

Club Med Bora Bora

Well, I was a bit aprehensive to go to the club med because of some reviews I read online and the fact that I am very picky. Well this stay was AWESOME!
I am not giving a 5 star because of the simplicity of the furnishing in the rooms but they are still nice, spacious and the bed was comfortable (some review complianed about that) and had a great view on the beach eventhough it was not a beac bungalow (which inside is actually the exact same as the other apt)
The landscaping was nice, the view very pretty, the staff amazingly nice (we speak French so that helped), the food was good and plentiful, the open bar is an awesome feature, you even get snacks there in between meals.
They have great free activities: snorkeling trips (you get to swim by rays), daiy trips to a near by Motu (small island) where the blue of the water will make you dizy, you can go saiing on your own after a sma lesson, windsurfing, tennis, basket bal, free cardio classes (aquagym, combat class, yoga, stretching)...franky it is quite a deal.
We visited the Talasso Spa which is GORGEOUS but was totally dead when we went there. There was not many people and you ave to pay for every activity. Someone was saying that they paid $12 for a breakfast box of cereals...Their rooms are totlly gorgeous and luxurious with a killer view of the aqua horizon. I think it would be fun for one night or two but boring after that...CLub med is definatey a great pick.

Spent a wonderful week at Club Med on Bora Bora enjoying the many activities. We love that everything is included at Club Med, and we took full advantage of it! Everyday we sailed the Hobie Cats and went on the snorkeling trips.
The meals were above average, with breakfast and lunch my favorite meals. I miss the chocolate croissants served every breakfast, as well as the fruit juices and delicious selection of breads. As a somewhat picky eater, I appreciated the wide selection of fish, beef, chicken, vegetables, fruits, cheeses and desserts. There were always several items I wanted to eat.
But what really made the stay spectacular was the Club Med staff. There were several staff members who stand out in my mind. Chin and Sebastian were always glad to help us with sailing, windsurfing, and kayaks. Our last day was a joy as Sebastian taught us to use the trapeze on the Hobie Cats. Fred was always friendly and welcoming. We loved having Damien take us snorkeling, show us the Moray eel and take pictures.
Our stay was wonderful. We were planning our return before we left.
