On a last minute whim, we decided to spend our last few days in FP on Bora Bora early June. This trip celebrated our 5th anniversary. Having stayed at the Le Meridien on Tahiti, we decided to transfer our SPG points to this property and purchased air tickets to Bora Bora.
Upon arrival, our every need was met exceptionally well. With all of the staff and amenities, we would never have guessed we were a last minute arrivals. Dorothy greeted us and showed us around the property
while our luggage was being transferred to our OWB. The property itself is simply beautiful. The view of Mt. Otemanu sincerely felt as though we had arrived.
The property has a lovely bar – perfect for watching sunsets. There is a lounge area equipped with a pool table. The beach is ample and offer loads of water activities. We had lunches and one dinner at the
property – all were well done. For our last night, we went next door (not technically) to Jean-George at the St. Regis. It is a high price
to pay for exceptional food, however well worth the splurge.
This hotel has two sections of OWB and all are seemingly well-suited.
The beach bungalows seem to be some of the best compared to other properties as they are adjacent to the lagoon. This lagoon is indeed something special. The outgoing GM Pascal had a special project years
ago to create a turtle sanctuary by creating an ecosystem while caring for the young endangered turtles. Sebastian – the resident marine biologist provides for the turtles and offers daily educational sessions to guests. This lagoon is simply just brilliant.
Know that by staying at this hotel, you are assisting with preservation of an endangered turtle species.
Suggestion (just one): We would have loved it even more if the property had a fitness center. Perhaps that could become a priority of incoming GM.
