“Exactly what we were looking for!”

My wife and I stayed with Peg in mid-June. The accomodations were exactly as described in the other reviews (very comfortable!). The location is also perfect for strolling around town. Peg was very pleasant and hospitable the whole time we were there. The evening we arrived she showed us around and answered any questions that we had. She was very informative and easy to converse with. We only stayed one night, but we truly enjoyed our time in Talkeetna. From the complimentary wine in the evening to the wonderful breakfast that Peg made us, everything was excellent. She even made us a "doggy bag" with some treats for our trip up to Denali National Park!

We agree with everything the previous writers have said. Peg's B&B really is an absolute gem and we thoroughly recommend that if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Talkeetna to choose a B&B on C. Peg and her home have a real feeling of peace about them. What we also like is the fact that she 'adapts' to how long you want to 'chat'. With some B&B's we stayed in the owners got upset when we did not want to sit and talk for an hour or so over breakfast - but as much as we like to chat, when you only have a short time to do all your activities there is not always the time to linger over breakfast. Peg made us feel so welcome and our stay in Talkeetna was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska.

Our only regret is that we didn't have more time in Talkeetna and at this adorable B&B. Peg is lovely and wonderful. She made our stay relaxing and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and the breakfast delicious. The B&B is close to the main spots in Talkeetna.

I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting this cute town!

Peg is a wonderful B&B host who has made us feel incredibly welcomed and homey at her cozy B&B. My friend and I had just returned from Talkeetna where we spent 1 night at her home in the room with 2 single beds. The room may look small at first glance but having stay there, we did not feel at all cramped or claustrophobic. Every nook and cranny of the home was made useful with hooks and tables for guest use.

The B&B is located strategically within the Talkeetna village, and walkable to pretty much anywhere - Talkeetna Riverbanks, restaurants, shops, railroad depot and even the airport - though you probably want to have a car ride to/from the latter 2. Worth mentioning is Peg's culinary skills - she makes wonderful cookies and delicious breakfast. The B&B is also very well-equipped with a range of DVDs and novels for those who are there for a longer stay, which sadly, we were unable to enjoy since it was a quick trip for us.

I have no hesitation in returning to this place or recommending this place for anyone who is looking for the perfect place to overnight in Talkeetna.

I must admit I had mixed emotions before stepping foot into this B & B. But wow! what a pleasant surprise it actually was. Peg picked us up from the rail depot and shuttled us away to her little piece of paradise, less than five minutes away. The cottage oozes coziness and with Peg's friendly and welcoming attitude, one can only but feel comfortable in her presence. With chocolates, wine and Peg's scrumptious cookies, every day was a pleasure to look forward to. With a sensible selection of food for breakfast, Peg has got it just right. Her helpful tips were greatly appreciated and we were able to make the most of our time in Talkeetna. The rooms were comfortable with great beds and we all had decent sleep time, bearing in mind there wasn't much darkness in late May. My wife referred to Peg as the Aunty you would go and stay with in the country. I couldn't agree more. I won't go on about "A B&B on C" anymore but I will say this. This is easily the friendliest B & B I have ever stayed at and I have stayed in many. Top marks for this B & B, Excellent+. Talkeetna is a fantastic destination with plenty of things to see and do. The town is a gem and I can see why the locals love it.

Room Tip: No need, I can't fault anything about this B&B. Great value, perfect place.

This is the first review of many places we stayed at during our recent trip to Alaska, Canada, San Francisco and Hawaii. We were independent travellers and had been planning this trip for nearly two years using Trip Adviser as a guide. There were four of us friends travelling together and as you can imagine we were very excited. Peg was a wonderful host and we really did feel like we were staying with a local and as I explain to people Peg was more like our aunty we had come to stay with. We really enjoyed the conversations and hearing all about local life in Talkeetna. This was the type of experience we had hoped for and staying in the log cabin was great. Peg loaded up the fire for us and we were very cosy. There was wine and chocolates in the lounge room on arrival and the coffee/tea an biscuits always available in the kitchen. This B & B is right in the town of Talkeetna which was good as we had arrived and were departing by Alaskan rail. Peg gladly picked us up and dropped us back at the station at a time that suited us. I must also mention breakfast which was very yummy and it was nice to be asked what we felt like the previous night. To sum up this experience it was great and I would highly recommend the stay if you are looking for a real Alaskan experience with a real local. Thanks Peg and thanks Trip Adviser.

Peg made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Her log home is really just a short block from the center of town. We stayed in room A with our own private balcony which included a queen size bed and a nice size bathroom. Wine and cookies were available when we arrived if wanted them. She cooked us a wonderful breakfast to include crust-less quiche, homemade bread and preserves with berries she had picked. She also made scones which were delicious.

Peg is very involved in the community, quilts, runs the B&B and is a retired school teacher. She is super friendly and articulate and we enjoyed her company. When we left she forced us :-) to take cookies and brownies with us.
