“Fantastic comfortable motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2010

Staying at Taylors Motel was our first night in New Zealand and boy did we strike lucky. We arrived early (12.30pm) and were welcomed by Rebecca with two lovely very hot cappuccinos and were shown our studio. It was a very comfortable room, beautifully furnished - they have thought of everything you could possibly need. Rebecca was very friendly and helpful in giving us recommendations for somewhere to eat that night. This was the best motel we stayed in during our stay in New Zealand and an ideal stoppover away from the big cities.

What a friendly welcome! Nothing was too much trouble, the room was spacious, spotlessly clean and modern.

I book what was described as a small room but it was perfectly adequate for a short stay. The motel owner was very friendly and helpful giving plenty of good suggestions for local eating places.
However, it is not for those who have need silence to sleep as very near main road and railway line.
By far the cheapest cost of the motel we stayed on our NZ holiday and was good value for money.

We arrived early and were greeted in the car park by name. How did Rebecca do that as the motel was fairly busy and we had never been there before? We were given an upgrade and found the apartment spacious and very clean. It had a full kitchen including an oven and you could separate the kitchen and living area with a glass sliding door. While we were settling in, Rebecca brought us coffees and filled us in on all the local restaurants and amenities. The "Domain" (a local park) is well worth a visit and only a couple of minutes drive from the motel. Ashburton is not a tourist trap, it is part of an agricultural region and just over an hour's drive from Christchurch. Before we came we were told that it was one of the most sought after places to bring up a family. If the assistance and customer service we received from Craig and Rebecca is anything to go by, I can understand why. Definitely a place to stay and we would go back without hesitation.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to have you. We pride ourselves in knowing our customers and most of the people checking in that day I knew therefore it was easy to work out someone new. We enjoyed our time with you thanks for the feedback. PS We think it is a great place to bring children up as well.

Stayed on Nov 26 with my wife and 35 year old son (he has Down Syndrome). We had a two bedroom unit and it was in excellent condition, very clean and very well equipped. Internet was good and the owners were really helpful. Outstanding value.

No question that we would stay here again.

We have been in NZ since the 26th and have now stayed at four motels. They have all been very good and frankly, much better in quality than similarly priced establishments in Australia (where we just spent almost five weeks).

place was one of the tidiest I've stayed in. Was only here one night, Craig on the front desk (owner) was very helpful and offered good suggestions for meals and sight-seeing

would be good base to explore the south Island & Mt Hutt for skiing

room was very tidy, haven't seen one that tidy for a very long time
