“Bijoux and Oase - a must to stay in Orewa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

I spent a wonderful and unforgetable time at Ann & Russel's B & B. They made my stay to a real paradise! Very warmly welcome, very beautyful room and house and all is very proper and equipped with love in all details! I did not miss one thing and the breakfast was fantastic! The house is calmy situated with a great view and the garden is a little paradise! Thank you Ann an Russel for your accomodation!

Wow- thank you Ann for allowing us into your fabulous home. We enjoyed just one night in this super B&B but from the moment we stepped through the door we wished we'd booked longer! Spotlessly clean, attention to detail superb and a very stylish home. Views to die for from the balcony and living room and so private and peaceful. The complimentary homemade biscuits, nibbles, toiletries, wine etc etc ( too many to count) makes this B&B stand out from the crowd, as does the very lovely hostess Ann ( unfortunately we didn't get chance to meet Russell on this occasion) Bedrooms and bathroom very high spec and soft furnishings and colour schemes beautiful. Breakfast selection vast and so delicious. Absolutely 10/10 and more! Thank you so much.

Exceptional down to the very last detail...just a sheer delight !
After a long day's trip from Australia, we were welcomed and made comfortable by Anne and Russel. Anne saw to our every need and her cooked breakfast was something to write home about! Truly a 5 star rating here. A great beginning to our holiday in NZ.

We very much enjoyed staying with Anne and Russell while we visited family nearby. A lovely home and very nice accommodation - together with pleasant and welcoming hosts. Very good breakfast too! We discovered our hosts knew some of our family connections in Rotorua - a very small world. We'd go back to 48 Grovenor any time we're in the area - highly recommended.

My husband and I have recently returned from staying at Ann and Russell's bed and breakfast in Orewa. The website's photos of this residence do not do justice to this dwelling. We had previously been staying in hotels/motels in the Coromandel Peninsula and Auckland area and none of them were as clean, comfortable, quiet and opulent as this residence. We even had a fantastic view of the ocean from our own balcony, off our own lounge. Our bathroom was luxuriously outfitted and next to our room. Bathrobes, slippers, beachtowels and quality toiletaries, including sunscreen, were provided. There was a tv in both our loungeroom and bedroom. Our bedroom opened up onto a courtyard full of herbs and flowers. There was more optional seating here and also an outdoor heater if needed. Fresh flowers were beside our bed, in the bathroom and on the kitchen table each day. There was a choice of three fresh and nutritious breakfast menus. Ann is so obliging that if guests had dietary requirements, she would alter the menu to cater for them. You certainly didn't leave the breakfast table hungry. Ann had also placed unexpected extras (like the bottle of port and chocolates in our loungeroom and rice cracker/nut nibbles and mints in our bedroom) for us. Coffee and tea and homemade biscuits were available to us at any time. We were definitely spoilt. The beach is only a short drive away but it can be easily accessed by walking (15 mins.) and there is also a good Thai Restaurant also within walking distance of the house. Auckland is also close so sightseeing could be done down there each day. We hope to return to NZ soon and would definitely stay here again.

On our way up to Cape Reinga I decided to look at a B&B just out of Auckland. I decided on 48 Grovenor Boutique B&B in Orewa, about a 30 minute drive north of Auckland. Due to 48 Grovenor not having many reviews that I could find anywhere I was initially a bit dubious, but I decided to book it anyway. My fears were put to rest from the moment we arrived. What a fantastic B&B. I would go so far as to say that of all the B&Bs we have stayed in over the years, both in NZ and in Australia, this is by far the best.

Hosts Ann and Russell are just lovely people, as is their immaculate home. Ann and Russell treat you like you are long lost friends paying them a visit. They both love having a chat, and are a wealth of knowledge about NZ.

The guest bedroom, bathroom and lounge are just splendid. As is the continental/cooked breakfast prepared by Ann. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and you were basically treated you as if their home was your home.

Thanks for your hospitality Ann & Russell. We look forward to staying with you again when next your way.

Richard & Helen

Stayed here for four wonderful nights in this fantastic Boutique B&B. Located just 50km (1 hour drive) north of Auckland, NZ. Guests have their own lounge.with fireplace, TV and balcony looking out over the garden or the great coastal views over Orewa Beach and the Hibiscus Coast - 5 mins drive or 15 mins walk to the beach. The hospitality, excellent food, luxurious comfortable bed including robe &slippers and being made to feel a part of their home was fabulous. A true NZ gem.
Note: Anne and Russell only take one booking at a time making your time here extra special.
