“Loved the Self contained unit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

The newly renovated self-contained units were amazing, rustic with all the modern conveniences that one could ask for. The entire unit was spotless clean and we will definitely stay there again in the future. I also like to note that reception staff was great, as the said unit was usually not available for the consecutive nights in December, but they were willing and able to reshuffle some bookings around and were able to accommodate us (a great big THANK YOU for that). What we also noticed was that in comparison to other places we stayed, the residence at the part were extremely friendly and everyone greeted you when you drove in and out. Great atmosphere and well kept (which can't be said about all camping parks on the North shore).

Room Tip: The units are a little close to a major road and this could give lite sleepers (like myself) and ear...

First night in NZ after picking up our Maui Campervan. Perfect first stop over. Far enough away from Auckland city, yet close enough to learn the ropes of vehicle and recover from flight. Good amenities, quiet, tidal, brown sand, coffee van in am, icecream van in pm. Nice beach front sites, good view. Close to shops and surf club. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed for one night in a powered site. We had a sea view and the facilities were well maintained. It was busy but never had to wait for a shower. Only problem was that the hair dryers in the ladies bathroom did not work. Should not be there if they are broken.
Friendly staff and close to everything.

We were due to arrive quite late, but early enough to avoid the barriers being down which i think was at around 11pm and just pulled up to a site. We had called ahead and were told we were able to pay the next morning which was great.
They have a couple of campervan site options such as sea view, or a row or 2 back which is still basically sea view when theres no other vans around but at a few dollars cheaper at $18 pp.
The holiday park is huge and has all the basic amenities that are expected as well as a large communal room with some games machines. However, the highlight has to be the beautiful beach that is just a 1min walk from you van.
The location is great and is only a few minutes away from the town where you can buy everything you need for your trip and the Holiday Park as a whole is in a great position for a first nights stop after picking up your camper, presumably in Auckland.

Lovely place to stop and stay! Great service and very clean. Bad weather while we stayed here but the views were still amazing. Close to township and easy to find with a large supermarket very close too
