Taking a gamble on trip advisor we booked a short break from the cold UK weather to this hotel. I am a seasoned traveller and quite often will only add a comment to this forum if something is either good or worse than the rating. I see through a lot of the facades that are presented in places. This is the real deal and is hard to fault if I am being entirely objective.
The hotel's design and facilities are very well thought out. Decoration is luxurious and staff are highly trained. The difference here is the staff are attentive but not pushy or overbearing. They certainly go that extra mile to ensure that guests needs are caterered for. The food selection on the al la carte was some of the best quality I have experienced outside major capital cities.
The rooms have good views of either the very well designed gardens and poor or the sea . The room designs have high quality furnishing in a similar style to the hotel itself and (more more importantly the air con is very effective indeed) which is just as well as its very warm there.
The pool staff that walk the pool and beachside offering drinks and snacks are efficient. However, the only downside is that if you're not on a meal deal the overall cost can be a little pricy. We found that the room cleaning could be a little inconsistent but that is only a very minor gripe.
The beach and pool area are very good with good equipment and lifeguards are on duty. The hotel security staff ensure that the beach is safe and free from the hassle of other places where local merchants can irritate guests trying to push goods.
There are water sports and recommended padi diving centre on the premises. The diving masters provide a number of locations for both new and experienced divers with briefings more compressive than I have heard before. If you want to learn to dive this could be he place for you.
if you like to use a gym the hotel has a facility within the spa with a range of techno equiptment which looks new and is well maintained. The spa staff are pleasant and helpful. If you use a heart monitor the techno kit will link to it to aid the work out more.
Looking at the location at 160km from Dubai you will need to arrange transport if you are going it alone (not with a group). I would not recommend car hire. I would say that the standard of driving isn't good. However, as an alternative the hotel can arrange for pick up and drop off from the airport and the cost is less than a taxi arranged from Dubai airport.
If you want to relax by the sea with good food, weather and facilities this is a superb place and the trip advisor comments were accurate. Cheap it isn't but what you pay for is a quality product. I really enjoyed my stay and would go there again.
