“The place to really relax”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

After reading some of the earlier reviews, I was a little concerned about staying here - and was very pleasantly surprised. Agreed the self catering chalets are a little small for a family - but then again one goes to a beach side resort to be on the beach and in the water and not spend the day locked up in a hotel room! well maintained property, very helpful staff, well trained dive teams. Lifeguards could be a little more attentive. the Restaurants are nothing close to the competition in the area, so self catering is the best option. Room Services will deliver plates, cutlery, salt pepper etc on request and take it all away when asked to, so that's a bonus.
The Beach is brilliant, lots of well looked after kids play equipment, smooth sea surface so beginner snorkelers wont have any trouble.
One word of warning, the resort is over run by Russian tour groups from 11am to 4pm all wanting to pose and take photos everywhere.
We will be back - without a doubt

Room Tip: Go Self Catering - and request rooms away from Staff quarters

The place has; a diving center with cheap rental gear, canoe/kayak rentals, restaurant, swimming pool. While snorkeling we could see nice corals, small sharks, colorful fish and turtles.
Staff is polite and helpful.

Reception staff are friendly and efficient- check-in is fast in comparison to some 5-star hotels we've stayed at.
We stayed in a hotel room which was clean and spacious and had all we needed. Decor is a bit dated but that's not our top priorirty. Chalet's are small and cramped with very small bathrooms, and self catering chalets need better kitchen facilities. The gardens, beach and pool were lovely and not too crowded. Its great for families as play equipment is available for chilren. Breakfast buffet was a bit limited in variety but quality is acceptable and staff should offer tea/coffee/juice when showing you to your table.
Resort is good for an inexpensive quick break. I will return in the future.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are better especially when travelling with chilren

Seeking an escape from the traffic and skyscrapers of Dubai, my friends and I stayed for 2 nights at this adorable resort. While it is not as fancy as it's Rotana or Meridien neighbors, it is very clean, well-kept, and full of charm. The service is very friendly and accomodating, and the beach is EXCELLENT. Snoopy Island is right in the backyard, and there are so many trees and grassy areas.

The food and drinks at the resort are reasonably priced and delicious, especially the fried hammour. Breakfast is so-so, but it's included, so just make the best of it, right? The resort lets you bring your own food/drinks for outdoor bbq, so be sure to pack up!

This is an ideal location if you are looking for watersports; arguably the best place to snorkel and dive in the UAE and the beach is lovely. However, the accomodation is so bad it is perhaps beyond belief. It is unlikely that the rooms have seen any renovation in the last 20 years - wood-chip wall paper, faded paintwork; the bathroom was grim - someone elses hair all over the floor and only occasionally running water. As we arrived, hotel maintenance was rodding raw sewerage in a manhole 20 ft from our chalet and when we complained about the lack of running water we were given the impression that this is the norm. The coffee is terrible. Checkout time isnt until 2pm, but ironically you will want to leave as early as possible.

This isn't a cheap option - it is priced in the same range as neighbouring hotels - Le Meridien, Rotana, Miramar. My advice is go to one of these hotels instead.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a recently renovated standard room. Very clean. Sea view. Unfortunately, there were a group of drunk russians mixed with some drunk british in the chalet next to our room who did not care about the other guests and were sitting in front of their chalet, getting even more drunk, shouting and listening to techno music until 3 a.m. Hotel staff could not do much about it, gave us a different room the next day though.
Apart from that, the beach could be cleaner. Be aware that on friday whole bus-loads of russians arrive who come here on a package tour to snorkel. If you want the beach uncrowded, be there before noon.
The snorkeling is usually good, but be advised that there a many jellyfish in the water.
The on-site restaurant is pretty mediocre and overpriced. The dinner buffet (DH 85) is a joke.
Free internet in the lobby. No gym, no Spa.
Its not a bad place really, but considering that you can stay in much nicer hotels for just a bit more, its definitely overpriced (DH 600/night).

Calling this a Hotel & Resort is rather fanciful. Its a million miles away from what we have come to expect in the UAE. Its not particularly cheap or cheerful. Its a motley collection of chalets and run down hotel rooms. Beach and view of Snoopy Rock are the best feature despite the fag ends and used coke cans. During our visit it was inundated with several bus parties who had come from who knows where to use the facilities during the day. The attractive looking fish restaurant was closed and the other facilites shutdown quite early in the evening. The food was uninspiring - but at least the drinks were cheap.

Room Tip: Maybe the 'Superior Rooms' are better - otherwise go somewhere else !
