who is an architect and photographer. It's all beautifully done, with an interesting and inviting pool area, spacious and bright rooms, and a truly remarkable staff. Our entire stay was a pleasure. The hotel is situated in the hills above town in an area that one day may be more pleasant to look at. For now, the hotel is the nicest thing around and close to the charming little town of Datca. It's a fine spot to stay and to return to after exploring the wild Datca peninsula. Typical of our welcome was the response of the owner to a request we made: "Of course, this is your home." His pride in Villa Asina is well-deserved.

Villa Asina is an artistic gem on many levels. The most obvious its the owners' art collections from his travels, his own photographs and the wall paintings that are exquisitely displayed around the hotel, the exterior spaces and the comfortable rooms. The artistry of the cooking is also an experience to remember. The food is fresh, cooked with passion and attention and professionally displayed. And lastly, although there would always be more to say, is the artistic entry into conversation that occurs between the patrons and the owner and his staff. Our small group Canadians was left with the feeling that we deserved the care and attention that we received, a qua lit not always found when on the road.

Room Tip: The rooms with terraces, rather than balconies, have a larger outdoor area but the balconies are amp...

This lovely hotel was designed and decorated by an architect who has truly put his heart into it. All of the furnishings and decor reflect a personal and unique aesthetic. The staff was very welcoming and personable. The perfect place from which to explore Datca.

While the location is outstanding, the Villa beautifully designed and the food some of the best we had on our two week trip, it was the service and the people that run Villa Asina which absolutely made the stay. We booked our room at the last minute, and we were clearly on the Datca peninsula during the shoulder/off season - it made no difference at all. We did not for a minute feel like we received anything but their full attention, and was made to feel completely at home. Ms Arzu was a definite pleasure to speak with, and was exceedingly hospitable. Of note as well was the gentleman who was the hotel assistant; doing everything from portering our bags to helping serve dinner and breakfast - his help and consideration was greatly appreciated.

A sure sign of success for us is when we're immediately making plans to return - in this case we were scheming on how we could get back the moment we pulled away in our car.

Çok teşekkür ederim!

I've waited so much to write my opinion about Villa Asina..but I' m so jealous of this place!!We've returned twice and we hope to return the third time (..and more). It's like to be in a big family,a quite place where everyone knows the other guests, where the time flows slowly. Here you can discovery the colours, the art and the flavours of my amazing Turkey. Villa Asina is born by a smart man, very friendly and elegant, who put in his boutique hotel every kind of handcraft turkish art. We're in one time in Sultan room and the next in Turquaise, so beautiful, so clean, so fresh, with big terraces watching to the sea. Here you have a very close beach with a wonderful blue sea. In the night you could have tradional dinner and you'll discover that Bulent Bey put the same attention to choose the ingredients and to present his dishes. And you'll tell you kindly the history of his country, the turkish contemporary society and the traditions.
My daughter was ill during our holidays: Mr. Bulent and his collaborator Arzu helped us in a lovely way. When we went away at the end of our holiday they threw down water, like the turkish tradition, on our road. I and my family are hoping this method will working and we'll return as soon as possible in Villa Asina..Thank you Bulent Bey of your friendship..

This hotel was independently rated as one of the top ten boutique hotels in Turkey, and from the minute you arrive it is easy to see why. Set 25 minutes' walk / 5 minutes taxi outside the small town of Datca, the hotel has tremendous views over the sea towards the Greek island of Symi, and of the surrounding hills. Designed by the owner, who is an architect / photographer / chef, the hotel is an artistic and idiosyncratic masterpiece, filled with interesting pieces of art and memorabilia. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well appointed (the bed was a little firm) and the staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and courteous.

Some points worth mentioning.

1) The hotel is located off an unmade, unlit road, and while some guests did walk the 20-25 minutes to Datca or 25 minutes to the main beach, it would be a struggle for anyone with even slight mobility issues, and we took taxis to and from town. While not too expensive (about £5.00 including modest tip each way) it mounts up, and makes an evening stroll almost impossible.
2) The hotel does have access to a small, secluded beach. However, it is accessed via a steep path and then 50+ precipitous steps, and so we could not get to it.
3) There is no menu. You simply inform the hotel in the morning whether you want to eat there that evening, and whether you prefer fish, meat or chicken, and they prepare a meal for you. We left them to their own devices on the first evening, and as a result we were served a four course banquet - far more than we could possibly manage. We asked for less on a second evening, but still ended up with soup, mezes, scallops and a large fish course. There are no prices (no menu) and so it was necessary to check what our running bill was the following day - we averaged 210 TL per meal including wine; not expensive by UK standards but about twice what we spent on a good meal in the town. The food is good, but it's not great - we had enjoyed outstanding food on the Gulet Seyhan Jan the previous week, and so had been spoiled. We were unable to choose a dish at dinner, having to select the main ingredient in advance, and the results were interesting but tended to be a self-indulgent demonstration of the chef's cooking skills rather than truly tasty dishes. That said, there were some outstanding dishes - the fish soup cooked in a jar and the scallops are worth mentioning.
4) Mosquitoes are a problem!

While important to mention, the above points didn't spoil our stay and we would thoroughly recommend the Villa Asina as a peaceful retreat for couples.

Room Tip: Corner rooms overlooking the pool offer the best views, and have the best / most interesting decorat...

If you are looking at Villa Asina, don't hesitate even a moment to book. It is a beautiful, friendly, excellent hotel with a fantastic view. The service is impeccable and the food is GORGEOUS.

Watch the sun rise and set, watch the moonlight from your balcony.

If you need something, just ask. Take time to discuss what you would like to have for dinner and you will be richly rewarded. Service always with a smile.

Thank you Villa Asina for a memorable stay.

Miss you all - Bulent Abi, Arzu, Sinem.

Room Tip: We stayed in Sultan -exquisite.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Aşina Sokak, with its special design takes you to our Mediterranean atrium by going through our small hotel. You arrived feeling warm and you settled in our garden after delivering your luggage to smiling personnel to get relieved of your tiredness of travel, and you sip your ice-cold drink watching Simi and Mediterranean. You passed through our lobby, each and every corner full of surprises, and went up your gleaming spotless room, prepared just for you, one of seventeen, each and every one decorated different from the other to change your clothes.. You put on your swimming outfits, and jumped into our pool shadowing by the palms on the green grass. When you are striking you had the feeling that you are swimming in the sea. You are on a hill, but you are as if in the sea, and you are also at the same eye level. At five o’clock tea time, the smell of the delicious cookies and biscuits, offered by Aşina Restaurant,Aşevi spread into the garden. These odors mingle into the light breeze and take you to the past, to the houses of the relatives that you know so well, and then take you back today, to your holiday, to Villa Aşina... As the continuation of the pleasure of the afternoon, you strolled down to Liman street or maybe to the sea. At dinner Mr. Bülent’s meticulously prepared dining tables of fish are waiting for you. After dinner if you lay down on the chaise do not even try to attempt to remember the map of the stars, because right now it is blinking to you from high in the skies, you can read them individually, they are so lucid and brilliant. Both the endless pleasure of the night and also the welcoming of the morning that greets the sun is very beautiful in our garden. If you wish to retire to your room that unites with the meaning of its name, have a good night you all and wish you those familiar dreams....... ... more   less
