“Good value hotel with helpful owners.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2010

We paid £80.00 for 1 week bed & breakfast for two of us-that would get you one night in the UK, right? So for the price it was an excellent bargain.
At the time of our holiday, Goldtrail went into administration. The owners Tolga and Adeje (sorry for the spellings)!!! could'nt have been more helpful. Phoning local travel agents to check that our Turkuaz flight would still be operating and getting through to the Resorthoppa office (lines were ringing out all day Saturday due to collapse of Goldtrail). Thank you SO much guys for helping and reassuring us. We are home safe and sound now.
ANYWAY - The rest of the holiday info;
ROOMS - Small but clean and tidy with fresh bedding and towels maybe 2/3 times. Beds are comfortable with good pillows (a first!!) Air con a must at £3.00 a day. I've paid E6.00 in Greece, so it was a bargain.
POOL & PUBLIC AREAS- Again the pool was small but adequate for a refreshing dip. Not many people using it so it was fine. Nice seating areas inside and out. Plenty of shade. You can sunbathe on the roof.
FOOD - Typical tasty Turkish breakfast as it's a typical Turkish hotel!! As much coffee/tea as you wanted. Nice terrace on the roof with great river and tomb views.
LOCATION - A bit noisy for me but very central for the river and restaurants.
Our special thanks to Dodee the cleaning lady who works very hard and put our room straight every day.
My ONLY gripe is that "some" guests did'nt know how to behave and came in late (3am) while others were trying to sleep. A few other incidents involving too much alcohol spoilt the holiday. I am serriously glad that the flight prices are now going to increase because it will discourage the drunken Brits and foul-mouthed women (worse than the men)!!! from coming to such a gorgeous part of the world.
Good luck to other holidaymakers trying to get back to the UK.
Many thanks to all at the Donmez for a lovely time. XX

Loved this small hotel. Hospatility in true Turkisch style. The hotel ambiance thrilled me when we were handed over our room keys at the reception area and the staff seemed so courteous and polite. When we entered the front door there was a neatly maintained and lavishy designed room that lifted my spirit instantly. It made me feel like I was in the midst of true Turkish style. And I loved Dalyan! In short, I truly enjoyed my 12 days stay in this hotel and I'm looking forward to another experience in the near future.... Here's wishing the entire team every success for making my trip so delightful.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location beside the river not far from the centre of town. The place looks very run down from the street and the foyer is dark and cramped but the sparsely furnished room was light and airy and there was a great view of the Lycian tombs carved into the cliff across the river. The miniscule bathroom was old, dirty and the water for showers never got above room temperature. Bedding was one blanket and one pillow each and it was cold at night as the heating provided by a small reverse cycle air conditioner was inadequate. We ended up stealing extra bedding of the beds in a room down the hall in the middle of the night. There was no TV, no fridge, no lift and the main light in the room only work sometimes. Breakfast was a single plate consisting of a few slices of tomato, some cucumber, and egg, some cheese and some bread. We were also offered one cup of tea or coffee. Nice town, shame about this place.

OK so it's not the Ritz but if you are looking for the real, authentic, traditional turkish experience-look no further than the Donmez Hotel. The staff and the owner are lovely and welcoming and always ready to provide information in relation to the local area and interesting places to visit. It's extremely clean and the rooms are bright and comfortable- and whilst there's not exactly Wi-Fi in the rooms there is internet access in reception and why would you want to miss out on all the sunshine anyway when there's so much to explore in beautiful Dalyan.

Not a flash hotel but very comfortable rooms with balconys and chairs. Always clean and staff very friendly and helpful especially the owner and his waiters. A wide selectiion of food is available in their restaurant opposite hotel but there are cheaper places away from the centre. But be careful to check your air conditining bill closely

  • Liked — very helpful staff on the whole
  • Disliked — error in bill for airconditioning
