My husband and i have recently returned from Dalyan having stayed at this lovely 8 room pension only 20 minutes walk into the centre. I can honestley say its one of the few properties weve stayed in where the web site conveys an accurate picture of the proerty.
I booked the holiday and transferes direct with the ownwers Catherine and Ercan and arranged flights with Thomsons from Doncaster, all of which were smooth and efficient.
O/A we found our room to be bright, clean with a walk in wardrobe, where clothing and luggage were easily accomodated.
Breakfast (Bread, jams cereal) is served in the gardens directly outside the pension by Gourgan and Ercan ,who on seeing you emerge from your room immediately greet you with coffee.
The pool was large, warm ,and spotless with plenty of sun beds with cushions on!. The gardens surround the pool with several tables and chairs throughout, shaded by canopies of vines. There is a small bar where Ercan will prepare a light lunch should you miss breakfast.
The accomodation is B&B but Ercan and his brother like to prepare the occassional barbeque which is well worth staying in for.
If you dont fancy the 20min walk into town Ercan will arrange a taxi its only 5 lire and they are plentiful for the return journey.
The town itself has changed little since our visit in september 06, restaurants serve a variety of dishes and a steak meal will cost in the region of 17 lire and a beer 5 lire. I would recommend the Riverside restaurant, Ali babas and a small kebab/ pancake house at the end of town.
Dalyan is renowned for its mosquitos and i would have to say they are plentiful, wear long sleaved cotton shirts and trousers during the evening and you will be fine.
Dalyan is an area of peace and tranquility and not the place for teenagers expecting to party from dusk til dawn, Marmaris is about an hour away if your looking for bright lights and loud music.
Ercan says he is still learning the business and welcomed feedback, so here were a couple of things we suggested.
A boared on the bar displaying snacks and drinks available along with prices, the evenings he intends to barbeque so you can make sure your there to enjoy the truely turkish quisine, and the possability of a half board option for clients not wishing to go into the town.
Finally if your looking for peace and tranquility in beautiful surroundings where yor not surrounded by large groups of people and screaming children jumping in and out of the pool then the Dalyan Garden Pension is deffinately for you!
