We have just returned from a 2 week family holiday in Dalyan, staying at the Sahin Apts.
This was our first visit to Turkey and we were pleasantly suprised. It was wonderfull.

We stayed in a 1 bed apt, which was more than adequate for our needs for a family of 3.

Very basic if you want to cook, but as our holiday is about relaxing and eating out, then,it certainly fitted the bill.
The apt was spotlessly clean.
The maids come daily to empty the bins and clean and change towels/bed linen every 3rd day.
We had hot water every single day and the shower room was wonderfull.
We needed aircon as we were in the roof eaves and that worked out at 72 YTL, less than £2.50/day,probably the cheapest aircon we have ever had !!
The Apts are on 2 sites just accross a path from each other. We were in the ones with the larger of the 2 pools. The only downside to the main pool is that there does'nt appear to be enough sun loungers for the Apts, therefore we found guests,in particular the Dutch "towelling" the loungers incredibly early in the morning to guarantee a place.
The pool and poolside areas always appeared clean, however our 11 yr old and 6 other children all developed ear infections. We had to see the local GP (who provided an excellent service for our son) and he advised that he did'nt swim in there again, but all the other children carried on as normal,so it is difficult to say who is responsible, the parents allowing their children to swim regardless of their infection or the management not treating the pool.
Dalyan is a lovely, pretty place. There are a huge amount of restaurants all serving very good food at reasonable prices. The nearer you are to the river and views of the Tombs, the more expensive they become. For a good meal at a good price I would recommend JAJA's and Kordon, both near the river, but for a very special meal it would have to be Bistro Clou near to the market as the food was excellent, good value and the service was very personal.
Would we go to Dalyan again? YES! Would we stay at Sahin again YES!

The Sahin apartments are clean, basic and spacious, and very good value for money. The Decor is simple and fresh - white walls and a tiled floor with pine wood furniture and doors. There was red hot water everyday at all times of day. We paid for a one bedrm apartment but were put in a two bed apartment which was a nice suprise. Our double bed appeared to be a queen size too. The pool area is lovely with comfortable padded sunbeds to lounge the day away in the peaceful surroundings. Sahin's biggest asset is the friendly staff, who are curteous, attentive and great fun. We had a fantstic holiday at sahin, dalyan, and didn't stop laughing and smiling until the mini bus came to take us to the airport for our departure flight. Our fellow guests also had a great holiday and were just as impressed as us with sahin apartments.

Hi, booked this apartment through Thomas Cook. Great location for walking in to Dalyan (15 mins), clean and spacious, staff helpful. Too much to say about Dalyan itself, but here are a few pointers: Take the river boat only once to the beach just for the ride thorough the delta, as the best end of the 3-4 km beach is best reached by the Dolmus (bus) and the boats only go to the other end. Many good places to eat, but I'll let you discover them for yourself! A trip to Ephesus (Efes) is worth the time it takes to get there - GO! On the down side the apartment had cold water 12 days out of 14 and the dogs around the hotel yapped in to the early hours - and early in the morning. Okay apartments, but not a total 'get away from it all'! Dalyan fabulous!

We love Turkey and regularly have holidays there - this was our eleventh, although only second time in Dalyan. We booked a cheap deal through Thomas Cook website for 2 weeks self-catering. Although we only booked the bedsit apartment we actually were given a lovely apartment with big sitting room/ kitchen and separate double bedroom. The weather was extremely hot even for Turkey - reaching 50c one day, so we were very pleased to have several windows, all with mosquito netting so that there was a lovely through draft all night. There was air conditioning in the bedroom if you wanted but we don't like air con. The kitchen area was,as usual, basic but there was a lovely fridge - our main requirement; two rings, basic crockery and cookware and a kettle.
The Sahin apartments are run in a very friendly and efficient manner. We were very impressed with the staff who were always courteous and helpful without being overbearing if you didn't want to spent a lot of time chatting at the bar (this was however well catered for if that's what was wanted!). There is a snack bar there, we didn't use it but only because we are addicted to Lokanta food so went into town every evening and lunchtime! There is also a minibus into town in the evenings although we chose to walk. There is also a Hamman right next to the pool area - worth trying a Turkish bath or two!
Dalyan is lovely. A beautiful rural location with wildlife abundant - a full stork nest just down the road! The river is stunning and the resort more laidback than busier more hassley resorts.
We were able to have a lovely relaxed holiday doing exactly as we pleased. There is plenty to do if you want but it is also a wonderful place to do nothing!
I would recommend the river walk, which is beautiful with a lovely shady bar where you can sit watching turtles etc. They also do very reasonable boat trips.

My wife and I had never been to Turkey together before, I had always had the "...I'm not going to Turkey" attitude thinking it would be dirty, i'd have an upset stomach and my blonde-haired wife would constantly be getting hassled. However, we needed a sunshine break desperately and funding wise, this worked out perfectly when we booked through Thomas Cook online.

We booked at the supposed 2* Sahin apartments after reading a couple of other reviews online suggesting that the apartments would be clean and more than adequate. When arriving at Sahin down the rubble-track from the main road we were somewhat nervous, however once inside the entrance of Sahin we were very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the friendly staff, personally introduced to many of them and our bags carried up to our room. The room was on the top (2nd) floor and overlooked the pool and bar area. The cleanliness of the room was very impressive, as was the size of it. There was a large lounge/kitchenette area, a shower-room/wc/basin, and a large bedroom. Aircon in our bedroom was available for a small cost from the hotel but we opted not to use it.

The pool, poolside bar and terraced dining area were all kept clean and tidy and staffed until the last guest had gone to bed in the evening. However, noise was not an issue if you weren't the last person up!

We spent the majority of our 2 weeks around the pool at the hotel and found it thoroughly relaxing. A massive bonus of staying at Sahin is that there is a Hammam (turkish bath) adjoined to the hotel. During our stay we had two turkish baths (saunas, showers and full body exfoliate), a full body massage and mud packs on our faces so became familiar with the boss of the baths who spoke to us on a daily basis and shared drinks with us.

The town of Dalyan is a very enjoyable place to visit. Every evening we took the 10/15 minute relaxed walk in for evening meals and drinks and to take in the ambiance. We tried a different restaurant most nights and were very impressed with the quality of food, the price and the service. The locals could not do enough for us, both in the hotel and in the village. A particular favourite meal was the local traditional lamb "hotpot" cooked in a clay pot and broken into at your table.

On our days not lying by the pool we ventured to the Market in Dalyan both Saturdays of our stay - a very hot experience - enjoyable but two visits to a market in two weeks was adequate! We also spent a day on the "Discover Dalyan" trip incorporating the famous mud and sulphur baths, the large inland lake, the beach and a BBQ on the boat. Another day out was spent on a luxury yacht island hopping - we opted for the more expensive yacht option rather than the double-decker cheap boat - A choice which with certainly did not regret.

To sum up our holiday, it was superb, and we are looking to return to Dalyan this summer.
