“Second stay, lived up to expectations.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2011

We stayed at the Metin in 2008 and decided to stay there again particularly because of the excellent food - we booked half board for the first time ever in Turkey (about 14 trips!).
It is a lovely, conveniently situated, basic hotel with consistently excellent authentic turkish food. Rooms are basic and dated but spotlessly clean, as is the whole hotel. Staff are friendly and efficient without being overbearing. There is a nice circular pool which is open 8am to 8pm so (importantly for me!) you can swim before breakfast. Breakfast is usual turkish with nice touches like homemade yogurt and butter. It is served on the roof terrace with fantastic views of mountains and the lycian rock tombs.
The hotel is central for restaurants bars etc but we had a room facing inwards and that was quiet. Air con is available at extra charge. I
f you like proper turkish food, the evening buffet is really excellent and not to be missed and is extremely good value.

Top Tip:
Lunches are basic and not great (not done by the chef) but the lokanta right next door to the hotel does excellent pide, soups, kebabs etc and is 30 seconds walk from the hotel pool!

Room Tip: Ask for facing inwards and not an attic room.

We have just reurned from our second holiday to the Metin Hotel in Dalyan and have to say we had another fantastic stay. We visited for the first time last year and have never been to the same place twice, however we loved the Metin and Dalyan so much that we returned and took some friends with us this time.
On arriving we received such a lovely warm and genuine welcome from all the staff. This is a small family run hotel and everyone really does work as a team. Our rooms were spotlessly clean throughout our holiday as was every area of the hotel. Clean towels and crisp white bedding were provided. The pool area and bar were extremely well maintained.
Breakfast on the lovely roof terrace overlooking the tombs was just as good as we remembered, thanks to Hassan. Evening meals are taken around the pool area and the choice and variety of food is excellent.
The hotel is very centrally located to all the shops, local restaurants, bars and of course the river but manages to be a very peaceful and comfortable place to stay. It provides an ideal base for exploring Dalyan.
We would like to thank everyone at the Metin for another wonderful holiday and it looks like we will be returning again next year with our friends as they loved it too!

We've just returned from out first stay at the Metin, but our 7th trip to Dalyan. We'd looked at the hotel on a previous visit and decided to give it a try. Its a small, family run hotel, a stones throw away from the centre of Dalyan. We had a top floor room, which faced the street, but gave a fabulous view of the tombs. It was simply, but adequately furnished - cleaned daily (towels changed every 3 day's), bed was comfortable (firm) and air conditioning was available for an extra fee £4 daily I believe, but we didn't need it. Breakfast is taken on the roof, with lovely views to the tombs and is a perfectly adequate typically Turkish breakfast, the homemade yoghurt and preserves were delicious. The pool is clean with plenty of comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas - we had salads and toasties for lunch at the pool bar a couple of times and the food was excellent. We'd really liked to have eaten there in the evening too - the meals looked delicious, all simple local fare, but 7.30pm was simply too early for us. We found the staff to be really helpful and friendly.
I do want to address the issue of money being stolen - it happened to us. The hotel staff and Management could not have (in our opinion) handled it better and our money was refunded in full within 2 days (although I believe they had no obligation to do this). They were totally devastated that a trusted member of their staff had stolen from their guests, and he was sacked immediately, the police informed and it is now a matter for the courts. Despite this I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to someone who wants a small, inexpensive 2*/3*. If you want luxury then go elsewhere and pay a great deal more, but in terms of value for money, the Metin is a good choice.

Once again a fantastic stay at the Metin Hotel. This was our second venture to this hotel in 2 years and onve again it did not disappoint at all. A very warm and friendly welcome was waiting for us even though we arrived at silly o'clock in the morning. I had spoken to "Helenka" regarding hiring a boat for a romantic sunset voyage for me and my partner and this was arranged... I used this voyage to propose to my partner and we are now engaged to be married. Nothing is too much trouble for these people and they will go to great lengths to make sure your stay is a memorable one. The breakfast on the balcony is amazing and anyone who says differently must have had their eyes and taste buds doctored. The evening meal is absolutely amazing and is served in "buffet" style around the circular pool each evening. The rooms are kept spotless and the maid service is second to none. This is actually classed as a 2 star hotel and i cannot understand why...surely it deserves a minimum of 3 stars. The staff are very welcoming and friendly but are private enough to leave you alone...if you make the effort to interact then you are rewarded with very friendly people indeed. I am already looking forward to my next visit and am even serioulsy considerring having our wedding in dalyan.
Trips i would recommend are.....12 islands, nature trail, and you certainly have to do the fettiyhe market.(be prepared to haggle and stick to your price you will get what you want) I would also recommend the turkish bath (but only during the 1st few days)..it leaves you amazinlgy clean and the tan lasts for ages. Also for an absolute bargain visit the fettiyhe gold centre. In closing ....
The hotel = 10/10
The location=10/10
The Resort=10/10
roll on ou next venture to the metin hotel and the resort of dalyan

Disappointed with our stay, our room and safe we broken into and had our holiday money stolen out off our locked safe.
Turns out it was a member of staff.
This upset us and was made worse when the hotel don't give you back your money for a while leaving you to draw money out a cash point which costs more.
Didn't offer a free meal at the hotel or even a free soft drink to make up for the upset.
Every morning met by a un friendly man with a bad attitude. (great way to start your day)
Love Dalyan and will go back.
Will never go back to the Metin or recommend this hotel

We visited the Metin twice before 8 years ago and we were pleased to find the same good standards this visit The hotel is family run and everyone is friendly. We ate at the hotel every evening after trying the food on our first night and we really enjoyed the "real"Turkish cooking which was excellent value. The Metin is charming.

This was our eighth time at the Metin Hotel and again it was wonderful, relaxing. The Hotel has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and you are treated as part of the family. The food is fab, very turkish and cooked to a very high standard. The rooms are very clean and the towels etc are changed every day. The reception we receive is wonderful and the bar staff very easy going and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to refresh from our hum brum lives. Well done everyone at the Metin.
