“Hotel Keskin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Just back from a very enjoyable week at the Keskin Hotel. This hotel was spotlessly clean with immaculate grounds. Our room was located close to the 3rd pool, however we chose to use the main pool as it had more shadier areas to escape from the heat of the midday sun. We went HB but wished we had just done B&B as the evening meals were not fantastic. Breakfast was a range of cheeses, meats, cucumber, fruit, yoghurt and each day there were boiled eggs, eggy bread, etc. If you got a little peckish during the day there was a snack bar and the food there was good. There was also a lovely bar area by the main pool and also one by the 3rd pool.

You do not pay for your drinks or snacks on ordering, a tab is opened and you pay at the main reception area. We usually settled the bill the following day so there wasn't any shocks at the end of the holiday.

The hotel has 3 boats which they use to provide trips at reasonable prices, we also went on the free trip which was offered by the hotel, a trip to a beach for a BBQ,the boat stopped on the way there and back for us to swim, a good time was had by all.

The centre of Dalyan can be reached within 10-15 mins by using the riverside path or the road. We used the riverside path to get into the centre and the road on the walk back.

Someone had recommended the Aubergine Restaurant to us and we were not disappointed, infact
we ate there every night of the holiday. The food was excellent and reasonably priced we paid no more than 100TL about £30 for 2 starters, 2 mains (usually fillet steak) and a couple of rounds of
drinks. The staff were also lovely, no hassling to get you in the place, they didn't need to as the food was so good!

The only gripe we had was the inconsiderate people who reserved sunbeds (some putting their towels out at daft o'clock) and then not using them until after lunch. I think the hotel management should address the problem.

A great holiday and we would definitely return in the future.

We returned to the Keskin after visiting for the first time last July. We came in August this time and were not disappointed. The hotel was as lovely as we remembered, rooms cleaned by very friendly staff every day and nothing too much trouble for anyone. The beach barbecue, which the hotel organised, was stunning. The only problem was the sunbeds - not enough and you had to get up really early to nab one as there were the usual selfish people who insisted on putting out towels at 12am the night before. Small issue though, you just have to set your alarm early. We will definitely be returning again next year.

Myself, boyfriend and another couple stayed at the Club Keskin Hotel for 10 nights at the beginning of august this year. I have been going to Dalyan for 12 years now but its our first stay at Keskin, my first thought was how beautiful the hotel looked, all newly refurbished and the pools very clean! Its a family and friendly environment to be in...no disturbance what so ever. Our rooms were immaculate, cleaned daily by the same ladies who always left us an animal shaped towels on our bed :) air con worked perfectly and to top it off we had a fridge to stick our waters in. We never had any issues with the service or rooms. Bonnie the barlady was our favourite,so kind and sociable, she knew what we liked. We did a half board basis, breakfast was fresh fruits, breads, salads, fried egg, beans etc... needed fresh juices though...not ones you had to pay for. The dinner had its good days and bad days...sometimes youd get chips, chicken, pizza, then the next would be some random fish and lamb dish...not the right combinations lets say that! It needed more variety...but like i say...it was okay as we payed so little to stay there and it was always cooked fine! Theres 3 pools , always people around and seats always taken (make sure you get your towels down) but it was so tidy and always had the gardners in making sure the garden looked tidy. I was incredibly impressed with the hotel...i would definately reccommend..love the new buildings and rooms, and lunch time menu was tasty! It shouldnt get bad reviews as it is one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in. :)

Beautiful setting. Food a bit basic but ok. The rooms were very clean and towels changed every day. Room facilities quite basic. (A kettle would have been nice). Not enough sun beds so be prepared to get up early to nab one!!! It is about a 10 minute walk into town along the river which is a nice walk. We booked a private boat trip a couple of times during our stay which I would recommend as they are really good value. Overall a good holiday

Ignore the picture shown on Trip Advisor, definitely not the Keskin in Dalyan. This was our second holiday at the Keskin. On our first visit we had rooms in the 'older' blocks near the main pool, these are very good rooms with generous balconies. Some overlook the pools, some overlook the gardens and others overlook the quiet roads adjacent to the hotel. The central atrium with an elegant staircase leading up to the rooms is a wonderful space but can be a bit of a funnel for any noise from banging doors or late returners from Dalyan centre. On our latest visit we requested rooms in the newer blocks overlooking the third pool and Ilias's pool bar. These are excellent rooms located in blocks of four or eight. Ground floor rooms have private terraces with steps down to the pool. All of these rooms have a pool view and lovely views of the mountains. We sat on our balcony with a drink watching the sunset over the mountains every evening before dinner, perfect! The hotel gardens are extensive and beautifully maintained (the gardeners deserve a medal working in that heat!). All three pools are well maintained and crystal clear. The staff are very pleasant, friendly and extremely accomodating, particularly Ilias who runs the pool bar, a very pleasant and engaging character, full of fun. The trips run by the hotel are first class and good value, our favourite was the beach barbecue. A short walk from the hotel brings you to the riverside path, a beautifully shaded walk into town. The path is dotted with restaurants and pancake houses all on pontoons over the river, all of these are worth a visit. Our regular lunchtime spot was the pancake house linked to the Candur Maz villas, lovely place with lovely staff. The Keskin could do with air con in the communal areas, it gets very hot even at breakfast! They do have a 'misting' system spraying a welcome cooling mist of water on the outside dining area but inside can become too hot. All in all the Keskin is a great choice for a holiday in Dalyan, we highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms in the newer block near the third pool are very good indeed, all have good views. Room numbers...

We have visited Turkey many times and have enjoyed every holiday. This year we went to this hotel on the recommendation of family. It is a little jewel in the crown and my favourite so far!! Ideally located a short walk to the river with the town only about 20 mins walk. You have the peace of the hotel but the nightlife of the town not far away. The best of both worlds! Staff very friendly and everything spotlessly clean. Can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: All rooms within a short distance of one of 3 pools.

Location:
Dalyan - Smallish place, lots of restaurants, pretty walk along the river (see snakes, nile turtles, fish etc), stunning mountain views, friendly people, typical Turkish hassle is non-agressive and in good humour...a nice change from other Turkish resorts. Keskin is a ten minute walk to the main town area and the walk is lovely and safe.

Hotel:
The keskin is clean, pretty, well maintained. Swimming pools are clean although chlorine is strong. Rooms are very clean, towels are changed daily and as mentioned towel art is amazing. Beds were quite comfortable actually and TV is nice to have, but didn't have a superb choice of channels just BBC World News, Cartoon Network, a Music channel and a channel dedicated to showing American talk shows e.g. Elen, Jay Leno, Conan etc What more do you want really though? Air-conditioning was included and was excellent. Safe was £10 a week...very reasonable, a decent size (you'll get you ipad in it!) and I liked the fact it was stuck fast, in the bottom of the wardrobe, not in the lobby as in other resorts we've visited.

The pools were lovely, but very deep so ensure you have floats etc for children. Sun-loungers all go by about 8am so get down early. Plenty of shade about the pool so you could escape the boiling hot Turkish sun.

Food:
We stayed half-board. Breakfast was salad, fruit, cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs, fried eggs or plain omelette, eggy bread, beans or sausage in sauce, cakes, breads, cereal and dried fruit. Tea, coffee, milk and hot chocolate were free.
Evening meal included a range of different cold salads, cous cous, pasta salads, potato salads, egg salads etc then hot dishes such as chicken nuggets, potato croquets, chicken curry, rice, kebabs, chips...generally there were about 6 hot choices you could mix and match. Soup was available daily and bread. There were a choice of two cake desserts and plenty of fruit including water melon.
Food was ok actually...after reading reviews I expected the worst, but I made sure I had a good mix on my plate, flavours were quite nice in most cases, I didn't go hungry. Children, vegetarians and people with intolerance may struggle. Dishes were not named, so sometimes had to guess the dish and just try it.

Drinks:
4 Turkish Lira for soft drinks
2 Turlish Lira for soda water
1 Turkish Lira for small bottle of water
2 Turlish Lira for 2L of water

£1 = 2.78 Turkish Lira approx (but in Dalyan town you can get 2.98 for the £1)

There is a shop just 5 mins walk from Keskin that sold soft drinks for 1.5 Turkish Lira and bottled water for 0.3 Turkish Lira! We often went for a walk for a few drinks just to cut costs a bit.

Guests:
Lots of English, German and Dutch.
Lovely people, very friendly and calm.
Children were present, all enjoying the pool and behaving well.
Many guests were older, couples, singles and repeat guests (you can see why).
One couple we met were on their 11th visit!

Entertainment:
There's the three pools, a small play area for younger children, football table which was free to use, free boat to the beach twice a week leaving at 10am, returning at 3pm. That's it...this holiday is to sunbathe, relax and chill out in peace.

Other:
The average entree price in Dalyan town was between 20 Turkish Lira and 34 Turkish Lira depending on whether you have something like pizza or steak. Drinks in restaurants around 5 Turkish Lira for non-alcoholic and 7 Turkish Lira for a big beer. Souvenirs are cheap. Lovely cake shops in Dalyan.

So we really enjoyed our holiday...we'd return if we wanted a chill out holiday again. Thanks to all the lovely staff.

Room Tip: Mind your head if you are staying on the top floor. Ceilings are tapered and you will take a few kno...
