“Keskin Hotel Dalyan”

Just got back from staying in this hotel. The hotel is very clean. However, if you do not like cats and dogs it may be better to avoid staying here as the animals, I guess mostly strays are allowed in the dining area.

This hotel is wonderful value for money. It is spotlessly clean with beds made and towels changed every day. Staff are friendly and incredibly hard working.
Breakfast is totally adequete if a little similar each morning with fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meat and breads together with a limited hot food range (no bacon but sometimes spicy sausage and beans!)
Advise people to take a travel kettle as there are no facilities in the rooms but this is the only bad thing I have to say about this hotel! The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space. We were in the 'new' block - lovely.
Have to get up early to put towels out which is a shame but that's people for you and most days there were still spare sunbeds at the end of breakfast
Breathtaking scenery and loads of really readonably priced trips help make this a memorable holiday.
We went bed and breakfast and this was just right as ther are many good restaurants in Dalyan a 15 min walk from the hotel.
Would recommend this holiday and will definitely be going back

Room Tip: Ask for the new block - a little smaller and quieter with a great pool bar with the lovely Ilyas

We have just come back from a week at the Keskin, we stayed B&B. It isnt as some people indicate "perfect" but it is a very good budget hotel, it is clean and very well maintaned. The rooms are cleaned daily and the pool areas are well mantained as are the grounds. The staff around the hotel during the day are attentive whilst not being intrusive and if its too much trouble to get off your sunbed and go to the bar then you wont have to wait long for one of them to take your drinks order. We elected to pay our bar bill every day, usually it came to between 15- 30 lira and we never found any errors on it.
The hotel is located as other reviewers have mentioned about a 10 minute walk from thetown centre (7 minutes if you are hungry) where the choice of food and restaurants is significant, and very well priced.

We booked a night time BBQ trip from the guy sitting next to the footpath on the way into town, his name is Eric and the trip he sold us cost 35TL, is was the best money we have ever spent, he runs the trip every Saturday an Sunday, you get collected from collected the hotel about 6.45 and the boat retruns about 11.00 at night, GO ON THIS TRIP if you like a romantic evening with nice people eating great food, take your swimming things and dont eat before you go.

We were sceptical of Turkey this time as we had stayed in Hisonaru last year and didnt get a wink of sleep for a week, so we contacted the hotel in advance to ensure we got a quiet room, the hotel to their credit did as we asked and put us in room 227 which is away from both of the bars, but noise really wasnt a issue, the mjority of the residents in the hotel were middle aged and not looking to spend their holiday keeping everyone else awake, it was a very pleasant experience all round.

Will we go back to the Kskin? The answer is probably, as I cant really see a reason why we wouldnt. Will we go back to Dalyan? The answer is definately, its 25 mins from the airport and largely free from tattoed women from the cities of northern England.

The day you go home you need to be aware that you are expected to be out of your room by 11.00 am, if you have a night flight as we did the cost of keeping your room forthe rest of the dsy is £45 not 45TL and the hotel does not take cards, some guests thought this was unreasonable, i dont think it is, but you need to consider it if you are on a late flight.

This was our first visit and after reading the many positive reviews we were eagerly anticipating our stay which unfortunately for us, started with a late night arrival. The young night receptionist did not seem to have a good grasp of English and also was unclear about our room request via the travel agents. We were then taken to a room (217 I seem to remember) which I can only describe as abysmal - holes in the sheets and pillowcases, broken shower door with subsequent water everywhere, no top sheet on the bed only a rough quilt type cover and finally no hot water !
As it was now very late we hadn't the stomach for an argument so postponed that till the morning.
Next day straight to reception and met with the manager 'Ferhat' who apologised and changed us to another room without quibble. It seems that some rooms in that block (overlooking the small round pool) have been refurbished but some have evidently not, so be aware and request an immediate change. We noticed during our stay a few people doing this so it must be a fairly common issue. Apart from the bad start the rest of the week was fine without room problems although if you wanted English TV you'd only have the 'Bloomberg' business channel for company. As some one else has said a kettle would also have been useful. Otherwise I can only reiterate the positive comments about the hotel and the helpfulness of all the staff who go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable and especially Ferhat the manager. All in all a good reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location a short walk into the centre with the weather an added bonus. Dalyan itself is pretty much your average tourist trap town with gift shops and numerous places to eat along one main street with local shops clustered around the back streets where you can also find the local bus services and car rental outlets. Everyone was however very polite and friendly with maybe the waiters outside a little too welcoming sometimes ! All in all a relaxing break in a beautiful location.

Room Tip: Morning sun comes from the road side so as no blackout curtains in rooms choose the opposite side if...

Second year to the Keskin Hotel in Dalyan. Rooms, gardens and all 3 pools all spotless, last year we were in block 4 which was the latest addition to the Keskin at the time. Hotel is about 10 years old and all existing roms have now been updated. This year we booked with two weeks notice and had the last room availble which was the "roof top" apartments or the loft area. Initailly on arrival we were a little uncertain but arriving at 10 at night we gave it a go.Now if you are 6 foot tall you will be in trouble as the roof space is 5 foot in some areas. The major benifit is that we had a balcony overlooking the mountains and no one else to peer in. We met a lot of peole who were there last year and others that had been going since the hotel was built. Not worth going half board, the only negative thing I can think of is that the breakfast does not offer much choice, ham, cheese, oranges, bread, etc and the juice is chargable but it is freshly squeezed. To sum up very good hotel in an ideal location 10 mins walk from Dalyan. Give it a go if you want a relaxing holiday

in lovely hotel, good position-quiet but not far from the local restaurants/bars (10mins if hobbling like I was). Beautifully kept gardens, clean and good pools. Went B&B but didn't have-took travel kettle though,so can't comment on food but did eat in for lunch twice during stay & very nice.Room good size, bathroom with big shower & hot water at all times if wanted, beds comfy, enough storage space, clean towels every day with 'towel-art' every day, fridge small but we put in what we liked & not removed, albeit a sign on front saying 'No food or drink'.
Only downside was the noise 'echoing' round the block-this is not the hotels fault but guests either slamming doors or walking above/on stairs with heeled shoes on the tiled floors-please be considerate of others.
Didn't try the hotel's boat trips but maybe next time?!

When booking our holiday, our travel agents tried to fog us off with hotels given a very poor review rating on here and so I started my own search and came across the Keskin. It all sounded and looked very good.
The hotel has a big open plan reception/ dining room and the rooms are located in various apartment type buildings. The grounds are kept beautifully- there always seemed to be people out there keeping everything immaculate.
Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool, double bed, and toilet room with shower. There was air conditioning so we were able to keep nice and cool, though it was quite noisy so we tried not to have it on too much at night. Everything was very clean and kept tidy. I enjoyed the anticipation of what shapes our towels would be twisted into and on the last day the cleaners made them into a large heart and sprinkled red petals over the bed, which was a nice touch.
Breakfast was a large assortment of things like pastries and bread, cold meats and cheese, fresh fruit, cereal and hot things like baked beans and egg, as well as tea and coffee.
We spent quite a bit of time by the pool, which was nice, although being not very tall I was disappointed that the pool was the same depth (deeper than my 5'2" height) all the way round. The bar staff would come to ask for orders for food/ drinks whilst we were by the pool which was nice. The bar area itself was nice to sit in during the evening after meals. We were B&B so didn't sample the evening food, but heard it wasn't particularly good, but with a short 5-10 min walk into the heart of Dalyan with its many, many restaurants and doner kebab shops, we were never short of choice for meals. The footpath from the hotel to the centre by the riverside was lovely so long as you were sprayed with plenty of mosquito spray.
The staff were helpful as far as they could be, the reception staff didn't speak brilliant English, which was surprising as nearly everyone in Turkey we met spoke it very well.
I wish we'd thought to take a travel kettle and supplies for tea/ coffee as this was not provided in the room. You also weren't supposed to take food and drink into the room, but we kept drinks in the wardrobe behind some dresses during the day so they weren't confiscated.
The free shuttle boat to Iztuzu beach was very nice to do, and after getting off the boat at the far end of the beach, we walked the 45 min walk to the other side.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The only downsides were that the bed was very hard, which my husband found difficult to sleep on and that the construction of the room buildings was such that hey echoed when people spoke or shut their doors, so we were often woken very early in the morning by early risers and peole leaving to catch flights.
We would definitely return to Dalyan. It was our first trip to Turkey and having visited Fethiye and Marmaris during our stay, which were other places we had considered staying, dalyan has a quaint, relaxed charm to it and the Keskin is a lovely location for a peaceful, relaxing and trouble free holiday.
A few words of advice we heard during our stay:
-get a money club discount card for 1 TL at the Migros supermarket. We bought lots of drinks, ice lollies, snacks and souvenirs from here and the discount card saves you money every timne you buy something. Spending only about 10 TL the first time we used the card we more than got the money back that the card cost.
-your rep may tell you to buy 'Dalyan perfume' (lemon cologne) to ward off mosquitos. This actually attracts them and so stick to repellent spray instead!
-the boat trips on the river are lovely. We went on one organised through our rep to the Kaunos ruins in the evening with a bbq on the boat afterwards as the sun set, on the lake, and it was lovely.
-when you visit Iztuzu beach, on the end where the buses pick up and drop off, if you walk through the trees you will end up at the turtle rehabilitation centre. As the turtles are rarely seen on the beach during the day, this is probably the only chance you will have to see them upclose and it is good to see the work being done to protect and heal these creatures. You can see them up close- they are amazing to see.
