“Mixed feelings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

I have some mixed feelings about this place, on one hand the staff were lovely and the food was actually really very good. However the lake has been ruined and on our visit one early September evening was frankly full of rubbish (empty bottles, sweet packets etc).

Upon arrival for the Turkish Themed night at Lay Lay we were initially taken with how impressive the place looks, but on closer inspection a lot of the place has been clad in some kind of paper mache. Next the platform over the lake unfortunately takes up the entire lake, so whilst the lake is still there it's almost impossible to see. However what you can see was covered in litter and clearly hadn't seen any sunlight in some time as the water had become quite green and didn't look very attractive.

However, we then had to balance our negative feelings about the venue with possibly the best service from a waiter we had our entire holiday. The food which he had recommended to us, not on the menu, was simply amazing. It's the first place in Turkey where we actually tried a dessert (we we're too full every time we ate, including this time, however the mains were so good we decided that the place to try some).

We were amongst the last to leave and whilst waiting for the free bus to take us back to Dalyan were offered free drinks which was a welcome gesture.

So the entertainment was fantastic and the food even better, but the lake obscured from view and disappointing. Hard to rate this one really!

“Out of Town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

We only used this for lunch after walking around the area opposite this restaurant, it was delighful with local snacks and a comfy seat after the long walk, I do believe this a place for turkish nights out we have not tried this but do believe you can get their bus from the centre of Dalyan.

“Not what it was.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

This was a very nice place to go to a few years ago. you could sit by the lake and feed the Ducks, Turtles and fish. Storks would wander around and you could some of them as well. The food and service was very good and reasonably priced. Then someone had the bright idea of putting a platform over half the lake and having Turkish nights. This, for me ruined it. The prices almost doubled and it was no longer a place to go for lunch as you would be looking at an empty platform where the lake used to be. If that is your sort of thing then this is for you as I think the show is pretty good, so I am told. There is a free bus from Dalyan.

“Used to have atmosphere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

When the Ley Ley had its lake with ducks etc it was different and a pleasurable place to dine. Now that they have put a large wooden stage over the water they have completely destroyed the atmosphere. Very mediocre now.

This is the second time we visited Dalyan and also the Ley Ley Restaurant which was really lovely, I cannot understand these people that pick holes in simple things, they are on holiday in a different country ,you must go with the flow ,do not expect to be like home this is their culture ,If you cant cope DO NOT VISIT so if you was in their position what would you do,We cannot complain they are the most welcoming /friendly /honest people you can find ,We cannot say this about our own My husband and I cannot fault it and we have booked for 2012
