We booked this holiday last year and after reading the reviews on here, we were looking forwards to our honeymoon at the hotel Asur. Let me tell you, everything that you read on here is true.
We arrived at 2:30am Tuesday morning after a 25 min transfer from the airport in Dalaman, and were met by the staff as we got off the small coach who swiftly showed us to our room and took our cases for us.
Luckily for us there was another couple honeymooning who were still up at the bar drinking the night away with the barman so we was able to join them for a late night beer. This was a great start to a FANTASTIC holiday with even better people!
We woke up early the next morning so decided to go for breakfast and were shocked by how gorgeous the grounds are whilst we walked the very short distance to the eating area.
We were greeted there most mornings by the owner as we queued for our fresh eggs, cooked how we wanted them. For me it was a fresh omelette every morning.
This set the tone for the rest of our holiday.
The gardens are well kept and tendered to every day. The pool is a good size and always kept clean, The rooms were serviced regularly and the beds made up and decorated with towels and flowers, but for us the best bit of the hotel was the jetty. I just wish we knew how nice it was before we got into the second week. When the heat is too much by the pool, the breeze coming off the river is gods send!
We ate out almost every night and can personally recommend:
The four seasons, it had some of the fittest waiters that I have ever seen, 30 degrees on an evening and somehow they find the energy to get up and give us a lesson on how the Turkish dance! Well done lads!
Caretta Caretta, it is a lovely River side restaurant and it is the first time in 20 years that I Ate and enjoyed broccoli!
And finally (My Favourite) The Hidden Garden steak house for an mazing steak! We visited there a few times whilst in Dalyan and would definitely recommend this place to anyone! They also do a lovely English breakfast!
I would try to avoid the Blue paradise next to the orange bar, if the guy tells you that you can eat there and if you don’t like it you don’t have to pay, he is talking out of his Ahole! we were highly surprised that we had to order bread and mezzai which is free in every other restaurant in Dalyan, and were most disappointed when our food arrived and we realised that he had got 2 of 6 meals wrong chicken instead of meatballs!. My steak was still mooing and not medium rare and the lamb that to me looked like it had been on a diet of fresh air and water! So as you can imagine I tried not pay but was told that I had to!
I could keep on going about the best bits of the hotel but I will leave it for your to find out for yourself!
Now down to the only bit of the Hotel that I would change! Mustafa the egotistical, arrogant, ignorant, idiotic, all seeing all hearing oracle (barman) who recons that we have paid all this money to go on holiday, to enjoy his taste in music, unless of course you are blonde then it might change whilst he is in your company. And yes, we got the message, your first love was a donkey! Please note that the Oracle might not like you if you smile or laugh whilst he is talking to someone else.
Keep a check on your bar bill as you don’t pay at the bar, you pay for your drinks and food when you visit the reception. Mine was wrong a few times so i demanded to sign for my drinks as i ordered them so that i could keep a check on the Oracles counting.
Finally a massive shout out to the Mazing people that was lucky enough to meet us ;-) whilst we were having the laziest holiday ever! John and Analeise, Martin and Gill, Amelia and Guy, you helped make our honeymoon the best holiday ever, we totally enjoyed our time spent with and around you and were hoping that you stay in touch!
