“wonderful holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Have just returned from holiday(19 Sept 2013) having stayed at the Yavus Hotel. We were a bit concerned after reading some off the negative reviews, but these must have been written by some really sad people. We found the hotel and rooms very clean, rooms are basic but adequate, after all you don't want to live in them is only somewhere to sleep. The hotel staff were very friendly, with a special thank you to Tifun and ramazzan. As for the reviews about Mr Yavus being unfriendly, nothing could be further from the truth,he sat and drank and talked with us at the bar and was extremely friendly, he even took us back to the airport on our departure night. Looking forward to returning next year.

We returned from a 2 week holiday in Dalyan and stayed at the Yavuz Hotel. Like others after reading some of the reviews we were worried.

The Hotel was basic but very clean, the staff were so welcoming and lovely a speacial "Hello" to Ramazzan and Tifun who were brilliant and kept us all entertained in the evenings.

Dalyan itself is a beautiful place and I would challenge anyone to go there and not fall in love with the place.

Having just returned from a really lovely 2 week stay at the Yavuz Hotel, I cannot understand the negative comments I have read, we arrived on the 2nd August for a 2 week stay and were a little apprehensive after reading the negative comments.
But what a fabulous time we had, this hotel is basic but extremely clean and very very well maintained, we were made to feel welcome from day one to the day we left, the hotel is in a quiet location a good 10 min walk to town, but if you walk along the river it is lovely.
Breakfast is typically Turkish like many hotels are.
Yavus is obviously proud of his hotel, the swimming pool and gardens are gorgeous, peaceful and quiet.
Also I have to mention Tifun and ramazzan the two lovely lads at the hotel bar for staying up for us every night until the early hours, even thank-you to Yavus for sharing Raki with us on some evenings.
Would definately recommend the Yavuz Hotel.

A lovely 9 days spent at the Yavuz hotel.
A nice small hotel felt quite private about a 20 minute walk to Dalyan. Rooms were basic but very clean, we had a room on second floor overlooking the garden and pool was lovely to look out in the morning over the neighbouring gardens too.
Breakfast was basic but just what you need first thing. Lovely pool always quiet and very clean.
As for the famous Mr Yavuz he was very pleasant always happy to chat and takes pride in his hotel. Overall pleasant hotel

I was aware that this was a basic hotel. Unfortunately, I imagined something like Premier Inn or Travelodge but in my opinion the Hotel Yavuz didn't meet this standard. The foyer of the hotel is clean and nice but the rooms were only adequate. There was no furniture apart from 2 beds and a table.

We had booked a double room and were told to move the two single beds together. We had to live out of our suitcases because there was nowhere to put our clothing - apart from a wardrobe with 5 coathangers (one broken), the doors of which would not close unless the hangers were slanted backwards as it was narrower than a coathanger.

I agree with a previous comment by hogmail Manchester regarding the rules regarding bringing food/drink into the hotel, and showering etc but we also left and moved to another hotel before the end of the fortnight we had already paid for as we did not feel welcome at this hotel.

Even when we were sleeping at the Yavuz, we spent most of the time at other hotels who were very pleased to have our custom whilst we sat round their tranquil and beautiful pools. We spent our money at their bars, and bought food from them. They were within walking distance of the Hotel Yavuz.

People go on holiday for a break; some from very difficult lives; are delighted to spend their hard-earned money where they find kindness and some peace of mind. It's not all about 'posh rooms' but if your stay is made miserable, your perception of everything else is likely to be similar!

Other contributors have suggested places where you will receive a completely different kind of welcome. Next year we are returning to stay at the Doga Otel ... peaceful and tranquil.

Room Tip: The ceilings are very low on the top floor apparently.

This year will be the 4th time we have stayed at the Yavuz hotel. We have no complaints what so ever. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, then this is the place to go. The rooms are cleaned every day, and the linen is changed every couple of days. The pool is wonderful and so are the gardens. The breakfast is typically turkish, with fruit etc, and is freshly prepared for you. Ive read many of the bad reviews on this hotel and the owner, but I would encourage you to find out for yourself. Mr Yavuz is great, (so are his BBQs) he runs the hotel with a small team of staff, all of which are really helpful and friendly. We cant wait to go back, Roll on September
