“Something a little different in a beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

With it's massive, thick stone walls, baronial feel and somewhat quirky decoration this is something different from the ordinary, and it's great. Set right on the water overlooking a small harbour, it's a beautiful setting. My room was clean and comfortable and had wi-fi. Meals are simple but good and the staff friendly. It makes a great change from the usual cookie cutter hotels.

I led a tour through Turkey and one of our stops was at Assos and we stayed at this amazing little boutique hotel. Everything about it was delightful. The ambience. The food. The service. The rooms. The scenery. I could have stayed there for DAYS!

I will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We had an option for a sea view room. I passed though - the windows are high and small and you could...

The Nazlihan is a charming water front hotel in the small town of Assos. The hotel is located in a converted acorn warehouse so the rooms are quite small but adequate. Unfortunately most rooms do not have a view of the Aegean Sea. The bed was also quite low to the floor. We had dinner and buffet breakfast here. The dinner was naturally fish. It was okay. Breakfast was a bit lacking in fresh fruit but the "village" is a good distance from local markets. The outdoor tables along the waterfront for all of our meals was quite pleasant. Drinks were also served water side.

Room Tip: Have a sunset drink water side. Stroll along the waterfront.

Part of "Legendary Turkey" arranged by Odysseys Unlimited, Newton, Ma. The Nazlihan Hotel is a Bed-And-Breakfast, far from being 4 or 5 star hotel quality. We can find several places like this to visit in the United States. The bathroom shower had mold and mildew in it (see pictures), and the window screen had two (2) big holes in it (see pictures). There was nothing culturally historic.
Asos, where the Nazlihan Hotel is located is a back-water cove. The travel material emphasized the beautiful sunset we would see. Well, the sunset could not be seen from the cove. All you saw was the shadow of the sun behind the nearby hill. To see a sunset over the water, you would have to travel about 2-3 miles to the top of the hill. We live in western Florida and have routinely seen the “green flash” as the sun dips into the Gulf of Mexico. That is a sunset, not a silhouette behind a hill.

Room Tip: Would not recommend staying at this hotel, nor staying in Asos

When it comes to location - it is right up there. Rooms, however, although not deprived of certain charm, are good only for a very short stay. As mentioned in other reviews - bathrooms are tiny, as are the rooms. Bed was Ok, but call it comfy would be a stratch. While we felt almost impressed with ottoman tiles and sink in bathroom, plush red covers on the bed and wrought iron candelabra in a hall, I could see how in two-three days total lack of space will get on my nerves - we had to step over one of our bags to get to the bathroom. Considering this place is a very old building, I understand there are some constraints when it comes to a room size. Service was a bit of a disappointment and there is no excuse for that.
