“Little heaven on the Agean near Assos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

L'il heaven on earth, amazing location, impeccable service, sumptuous food, cozy and comfy rooms, perfect getaway for splendid relaxation. Would certainly comeback if we get the chance. Afternoon treat with tea and sweets on the beach is something we will miss.

Best place around Assos, it is a truly boutique hotel and well run for couples to enjoy for a peaceful holiday. Service is great and they do their best for you to have a pleasant holiday. It is a bit pricy so entirely up to your budget :)

My mum and I stayed at Assos Ida Costa from 21 - 25 July and couldn't be more pleased. An oasis of calm in a beautiful, secluded seaside location, it's perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing, therapeutic few days of sea and mountain air.

We had a standard room for two which was very comfortable. The bathroom toiletries and towels were high quality - indeed, we purchased a few upon our departure. My only disappointment regarding the room amenities was that there is no daily free water bottle delivered, but only the ones available in the mini bar for the usual extortionate price. Another was that two of the three machines in the gym needed some maintenance and weren't really in use.

The grounds are beautifully cared for - a thick carpet of cool grass everywhere and ancient olive trees. There is a wood and glass lodge which serves as a common room for all guests, with boardgames, an extensive multilingual library, a fireplace and a flatscreen TV. One night when it was just us, we wanted to watch a film we had brought with us ourselves, and staff were very helpful in setting it up so we could enjoy a movie night.

The pool is extremely clean and a great temperature to go into after a dip in the cold Northern Aegean! Surrounding the pool area are tables where breakfast and dinner are served daily. The breakfast is the usual delicious Turkish spread of bread, pastries, jams, cheese, olives, and tea. The dinners were three-course and included a tasty variety of local delicacies. The chef Mr. Ramazan was very attentive and personally left the kitchen every evening to ask the guests' opinion, and he made adjustments to dishes upon special requests too.

The reception and service staff are all attentive, educated and friendly; they make an effort to get to know you personally and respond to your habits and preferences. We also had a chance to meet the owner Mr Ugur, who was very polite and warm.

Overall, it was a very restful, enjoyable stay - with children under 12 not allowed and everyone unobtrusively able to enjoy their own routine, it's a great choice of hotel to refresh yourself and get some rest.

Room Tip: Standard rooms do not have sea views or balconies

This newly built small hotel, right on the sea with wonderful views, now in its second season, is clearly a labour of love of the owner, who has taken great care in all aspects of its design and management, and who is a constant presence on the premises, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that guests feel welcome and comfortable. It is built in the traditional style in small groups of two storey houses using local stone, and blends in very well with its environment.among the hills and olive groves that surround it A great deal of effort has gone into the planting and landscaping of the gardens, which have some very ancient olive trees, local cypresses, pines and shrubs, and more exotic plants from central and South America. The hotel has its own organic potager which grows many of the vegetables which are served for dinner. There is a lovely beach bar and pier. The staff are without exception very, very nice and genuinely seem to enjoy being of service to the guests. The night we arrived, one of our party asked if they had octopus on the menu. They did not, but went and got some within half an hour and called us to say they had added it to our menu (it was superb). I managed to get a flat tyre as I was driving back to the hotel, and they arranged for it to be taken care of very efficiently. We were told we could leave our rooms whenever it suited us on the day of check-out, although obviously this will depend on how busy the hotel is. The chef is very talented and really cares about the food he prepares, which is all organic and which uses only iocal produce -- among the very best I have eaten in Turkey -- actually anywhere. It would be well worth visiting this hotel for the food alone, but really the hotel is first rate in all departments. One hopes that it will stay this way, because it is very rare to find something so perfect. An absolute gem, and somewhere to relax completely. A perfect antidote to the full-on urban experience of visiting Istanbul, from where we had come.

This hotel is truly spectacular. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed, with gorgeous blonde wood furniture and the finest linens, including traditional turkish towels. The garden is fantastic, with drifts of jasmine and roses and a high sense of style. Common areas are all generously proportioned and welcoming. With half board, the price is right and the food is wonderful. We had a lovely turkish dinner every night, always with something special. The owner is regularly on the premises, and it shows that the hotel was the dream of a couple with great taste and a lot of experience of the best the world has to offer. My only criticism is that it is a bit hard to find, because they haven't put many signs up on the road like the other hotels, but your persistence will pay off!

We were delighted with our stay at the Ida Costa Hotel. It is a charming recently opened, welcoming space, brilliantly designed, beautifully constructed to enhance the view of the sea, and surrounding area.
We stayed four nights, and felt the staff went out of their way to take care of every detail of our needs, for example, the bus company left our luggage in Istanbul (!!!) and the Director "Ugur Olcay" personally took charge and had our bags sitting outside our room by the next afternoon. Food was superb, featuring local dishes with exotic spices from the region, fresh bread and uniquely delicious flavours. Without a doubt one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
It is a full eight kilometres from the village of Assos--we enjoyed a walk there to visit ancient acropolis and harbour. But if you arrive without transportation, the isolation can be overcome as the hotel can arrange pick-ups.
The Ida Cost definitely deserves the highest rating.

We first booked only two nights at this hotel but decided after one night to extend our stay to 4 nights, because we were impressed by the individual and beautiful setting of this hotel. It's situated right at the beach near Assos and has a gorgeous swimming pool, beach chairs, pier, lovely dining area, beach bar etc. The rooms were spotless clean, quiet and featured a balcony with sea view. The design of the whole resort and of the room was stylish. There was even a reading room with many books and magazines. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with local specialties and in the afternoon complimentary tea incl. snacks were offered. The owner and all staff paid attention to every single detail and were genuinely friendly. You feel like being in your private holiday resort because the hotel is quite small (I think about 15 rooms) so all staff know you personally. There is really nothing negative I could mention about this place; it’s definitely one of the best hotels I have ever been to. And considering the excellent value-for-money you get, it’s probably the best choice if you want to stay near Assos.
