After many years of travelling in Turkey , I suppose by now I ought to be used to great experiences and great hospitality but the recent stay my wife and I had at Assosalarga showed that there are still places which exceed our expectations . The location, nestled in the old stone village at the crest of the hill just below the spectacular ancient site , is special enough with views over the valley below and hills beyond , with the wine dark sea spread out far below over the ridge - but as previous guests have highlighted , the welcome at this guest house is something even better .
Ece manages to make guests feel like old friends / family members within a very short time and ensures that standards of comfort and convenience are maintained seamlessly .
We loved our stay , of several days , and it was a real jolt to realise that we would wake up somewhere else the next day .
Certainly Assosalarga is the real deal - light years away from the somewhat soulless tarted up hamlet of Assos down the hill .
Thank goodness places like this still exist - anywhere .
