“One of our best holidays ever...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2010

Kibala is set in a beautiful garden with stunning surroundings. Our chalet was simple but spotless and perfectly adequate with storage consisting of a wardrobe and bedside cabinets/drawers. We could have done with a chair or similar if only to throw clothes onto. Despite an earlier comment we found the bed really comfy.

Breakfast and dinner both consisted of several courses and were always freshly prepared and delicious (veggie for us) and we ate and drank some decent wines...and beer...and raki!! whilst listening to wonderful background music.

There are bikes for guests' use or for those who want to relax more there are a couple of hammocks and a typical Turkish raised wooden seating platform with cushions and narghile pipe.

It's only a short walk to the small village and wonderful beach both which had some decent enough cafes/restaurants where you could get a snack, full meal or just stop for a drink - both beer and wine freely available. There were also two or three shops selling gifts and clothing and a few supermarkets both in the village centre and surroundings.

We called on Carrie at Hotel Canada to say hello. Despite us being in a 'rival' hotel she was really helpful and made some good suggestions of what to do both in Cirali and when we moved on to Kaleici (Antalya old quarter) - thanks Carrie and for the tea for which we forgot to pay !!

It was also really good to meet with another TA member - Turkish Delight - who was staying at Kibala with her husband. Hope you both enjoyed the rest of your trip although you'll still be in Turkey yet you lucky things.

We stayed only 5 nights before moving on to a much more 'upmarket' hotel in Kaleici but honestly wish we'd stayed the full week with Bulent and his fantastic staff, Ness, Ismail, Efe and the cook ( I'm ashamed to say I didn't get her name). Highly recommended.

We have just returned from our second holiday at The Kibala Hotel in Cirali, a beautiful area of Turkey.
We knew what to expect, having stayed last June, and it was an equally perfect stay the second time around. The hospitality of Bulent, the owner, and his staff is second to none. The accomodation is wonderful, and the food was as delicious and varied as last year. After a fantastic 5 course meal, we would take a walk along the beach, looking at the incredible stars, taking in the beauty of the place. You sleep like a log in beautiful and extremely clean and spacious wooden chalets, dotted around Bulents stunning and well tended gardens. I cannot recommend The Kibala highly enough. If you are looking for total relaxation, and peace, with wonderful food and hospitality, look no further. We will be returning, probably every year (at least ONCE a year!) for the rest of our lives. Thanks again Bulent! So happy we have found you!!

WOW..What a relaxing way to spend a vacation. We opted for the full board option which included our breakfast and dinner. My partner who could eat for his country in the Olympics, and myself at 6 months pregnant never left the table unsatisfied. Breakfast was always delicious, fresh and varied enough to keep us interested, ditto with dinner. Each night we were served a multi course menu with traditional turkish meals, as well as healthy and hearty salads, and scrumptious desserts. For the first few nights we were the only ones there as it was off season and we were treated like royalty. When we needed more pillows more were brought instantly. Dinner was a treat as Bulent was able to chat with us and tell us about the history of the area and turkey. The bungalows are spacious and surrounded by lemon, orange and blossoming apricot trees. What a treat to wake up to the sound of roosters and the smell of sweet fruit!
The owner, Bulent, is very serious about keeping his piece of heaven exactly that. He has worked very hard to create a calming, quiet atmosphere free from loud noises, too many distractions or hustle and bustle. You are free to come and go as you please as though you were at home and meals are served at your leisure. The pine bungalows have a mini fridge stocked with water and snacks and the shower pressure is INCREDIBLE! We never worried about a lack of hot water and we slept very very deeply each night in the custom orthopedic mattresses (my partners constant complains of aches and pains suddenly vanished after a nights sleep at Kibala!)
The common area is inviting and warm...There is a library of books to choose from which you can take down to the beach and enjoy...There is a fully stocked bar and traditional turkish relaxation area with fluffy pillows to rest and smoke a narghile on if you are so inclined.
We WILL indeed return when we can. It was our first trip to Turkey and we hadn't been anywhere but Cirali so it was a great introduction to the beauty and class of turkish culture. Definitely recommend Kibala to anyone looking to unwind and relax under the shade of a big tree, in a hammock with a good book!

Well the drive down had us sold on cirali, its good old traditional turkey which is just absolutely stunning! Then we pulled up at Kibala and again it was truly beautiful! We were greeted by Bulent and his staff who helped with the bags from the car and showed us straight around the bungalow which was so cute. The room was very spacious and had two seperate rooms (we slept very well and found the bed comfy) with a big bathroom with shower over a turkish bath (often a rareity in turkey: the bath, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing!) and a lovely big balcony with a rocking chair and deck chair and table. In the room was a very well stocked fridge with reasonable prices which was very much appreciated after a long walk and a nice touch we felt. The balcony was very private and had views over the incredibly well kept and green gardens. There were plenty of fruit trees and veggies growing in the garden and Bulent was out every day ensuring its maintenance and it truly paid off as the gardens are beautiful. I adored that chickens and the chicks were wondering around the garden and loved the sounds and sights of the wildlife it made for a truly relaxing expereince. There was a winding path down to the river at the bottom of the garden with a massive cliff face truly stunning!

Now for the food... wow! I can safely say we have never been so well fed. The evening meal included in the price was all local products and tasted delicious, the staff who served us were lovely and there to help at every point. I think we had about five courses each night and the food exceeded our expectations even having read the previous reviews that said how good it was. The breakfast similiarily was big and tasty. As we had forgotten our lonely planet Bulent came out with about six guide books and was very helpful and friendly with great knowledge of the surrounding area.

The area itself was also fantastic, a ten minute walk down the very quiet road took you to the beach at cirali end. The beach for me reminded me of some of the beach settings in thailand and were beautiful. We walked down the beach about fifteen minutes and walked around olympos ruins. These for us were very atmospheric and almost mystical all the lycian ruins were embedded in the lush greenery of the site and we even walked through the cool river to exlplore further it was lovely. At the other end of the beach is the walk up to the chimerea which again was stunning, amazing views and well worth the trip in the evening to see this natural phenomena. There was plenty of wildlife too we saw, tortoises in abundance ( two of which we picked up and helped them accross the road), terrapins, frogs, butterflies and birds galore and a hedgehog as well as all the farm animals.

If you are after a holiday in a relaxing setting, with great service, amazing food, beautiful gardens set in a natural setting with a great beach, atmospheric ruins, and nature in abundance then Kibala is certainly the place to be, we loved it and shall be back without a shadow of a doubt! Thank you

I agree with the reviews in that this hotel is a relaxing stay, with accommodating staff and a beautiful, peaceful setting. The meals are amazing and Cirali itself is a fantastic place to visit. We picked Kibala largely based on Tripadvisor reviews... I wish someone had mentioned the bed! My husband and I went for the 'downtime' part of the trip and had horrible sleeps - we left more exhausted than when we arrived. I understand that this is not a four star hotel, and have no problem with simple furnishings, but the mattress was really uncomfortable. The roosters in the morning woke us up as well - this may be an issue for some (although we were ok with it, given the secluded setting!).

We do feel sorry that you were not satisfied with the quality of sleep you experienced while staying at Kibala. We would like to say that we have chosen to provide our customers with the highest quality semi-orthopaedic or orthopaedic mattresses, and we were surprised to read your comment because on the contrary, many of our guests have told us of their satisfaction with the comfort of our beds.
Please note that we do not rear any poultry on Kibala’s premises and despite the care we take to ensure our guests have a relaxing and quiet time, chickens and cocks do roam from the neighbourhood and are a part of village life in Cirali.
We are glad you enjoyed the rest of your stay and hope to welcome you again at Kibala in the future.

This place is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a true cultural experience in Turkey. It is away from the "5 star hotels" and offers access to amazing ruins and sea front that is undeveloped and still has rural charm. The owner speaks excellent English and offers the most inviting and accomodating atmosphere. The accomodations were clean, comfortable, and I felt wonderfully safe as a woman traveling alone seeking some quiet and solace amongst nature. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful retreat that takes you back to nature and into a swirl of relaxation. The owner is especially accomodating to vegetarians and the chia is always freshly prepared and waiting.

The bungalows are spacious and charming, the natural setting and garden amazing. We loved the food served at breakfast and dinner, portions are more than generous and taste delicious. We found the service excellent, Bulent is a great host with a fine taste in music! We loved resting in the garden under the shade. The beech is only a short walk away from the hotel and you can conveniently access both the site of Chimera and Olimpos. We loved the walk to the canyon that Bulent recommended.... Kibala is a very special place idea for families. We will be back
