“A great place to relax in beautiful surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2010

genourous breakfasts with a variety of home made conserves; clean, simple room with good, heavy quality bed linen and towels and a friendly and helpful host. The garden is a citrus grove with hammocks to relax in and view the mountains or the hens( good entertainment).

can't rate this pansion and Cirali enough. we arrived after spending 3 nights on a gulet and a long trip by mini bus to the Blue paradise, the owner greeted us with a drink and told us where to go and what to do in cirali, our room for the 4 nights was a wooden challet set in orange and lemon grove and other fruit trees which were spottlessly clean.the pansion is located near the quiet end of the almost deserted beach between the chimera and olympos ruins.
we had evening meal with them the first night which was wonderful only one choice and served at 7pm, breakfast was served in the garden all fresh ingredients the eggs were fresh that morning from their hens. bikes were available for guest use.
we had organised a transfer with the owner to take us to the airport, we were not leaving till 11pm and we were told to keep our room till we were ready to leave at no extra cost, so hospitable.

This is a delightful, friendly and relaxed pension in the quiet village of Cirali. It is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of life creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. There are no TVs (a bonus), and the only noise is created by the cicadas or the early morning wake up call from the many cockrels in the area. Oh, and of course, the call to prayer.

Mehmet and his family provide a warm welcome. They are eager to please their guests. Breakfast is typical Turkish style, which we love, with eggs from the hens, cheese, tomatoes and cucumber, bread, olives, home made jams (fruit from the garden). Tea and coffe are available throughout the day. Evening meals are available with simple, delicious, home cooked food provided.

Rooms are simple but comfortable. Air conditioning and private bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Mehmet has created a beautiful garden which stretches along the path in front of the rooms. Each room has a small seating area, and a line is provided so the swimwear is dry for the next day.

Hammocks and seats are provided under the shade of the trees, or beds with sun shades are available on the beach. Take your pick!

The beach is a stroll away. The warm Mediterranean Sea provides a pleasant relief from the hot August sun. A bonus was seeing the turtles hatch in the early morning.

There are many other attractions, including the 'Chimeras' - natural fires that burn continuously - on Mt Olympos, the Roman ruins of the Olympos village, and further afield, Ulupinar where the restaurants have seating areas created on platforms in the river, or Goynuk a stunning canyon where you can swim up river in the cold spring waters. We intend a return trip to discover more!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2009

We stayed in Cirali for three nights as part of our two week trip along the Lycian coast. Cirali village is very quiet and pleasant, essentially a long row of (a hundred or so) family run guesthouses set in spacious gardens stretching the length of the sandy beach south of Olympos. I think most of these probably have comparable levels of comfort. All are small, as befits a village where development is not permitted due to the turtle nesting site on the beach.

Mehmet's Blue Paradise pension is clean and friendly with simply decorated rooms laid out in a single line the length of his garden. We stayed in a triple room for € 30 per night, which had one double bed, one single bed, air con and a bathroom with a shower. The balcony outside was equipped with garden chairs and a washing line.

It's a five minute walk to the beach where each hotel has a few umbrellas and sun loungers (no one seemed to patrol these to check guests were using their hotel's own amenities or to collect any sort of payment).

Breakfast was served at outdoor tables under a canopy by the entrance to the pension and included home-made jams with fruit from Mehmet's lovely garden (think lemon trees, plum trees, bougainvillea) and eggs laid by the hens which wander freely in the garden. My daughter loved swinging in the hammocks and sitting in the raised divan alcove.

You can also eat dinner in the pension, although we headed to snack bars in the village for a change of scenery.

Mehmet can organise taxi transfers and tours, but one thing he didn't warn us about was that he only accepts cash payments (as do many small hotels in Turkey, in either euros or TL) and Cirali does not have any banking facilities (the nearest bank machine is 15 km away).

I'd say it's easier to get around in Cirali if you have a car/scooter/bicycle (Mehmet has a couple of bikes to loan out for free) as it's a fair walk into the village centre/to Olympus or up to the path leading to the Chimaera, especially with a young child in tow.

All in all, we had a very pleasant, relaxing stay, marred only by the 30km round trip in a taxi to fetch extra cash, which we could have done without!

This was our first trip to Turkey and Cirali didn't disappoint! One of our best holidays ever and great value for money!

Mehmet and his family make you feel very welcome at the Blue Paradise.

Rooms
Very clean and very comfortable. Air con. Hot water in the shower a bit erratic but hey for less than £25 a night for 2 people - you can’t complain!

Location
Very short stroll to beach where Mehmet has some sun loungers for free use
Free bikes to use
Hammocks, sun loungers at the pension - if you don’t fancy the beach
One of the better locations we saw - very quiet location. Don’t expect bars and nighlife!
Good pensions nearby to eat in - short stroll.

The beach
Generally clean - plastic bags and rubbish in sea occasionally
Very quiet and lots of space to enjoy
Very hot sand - bring beach shoes for walk to the sea!!

Breakfast
Highlight of every day.
Friendly morning greeting followed by fresh eggs (boiled or omelette) from their own free range chickens, homemade marmalade and jams from the orange, lemon and other fruit trees located on the property. Fresh bread, cheese, tomatoes and cucumber. Oh and great olives!

Eating out
We ate at Blue Paradise twice - tasty, home cooked, fresh food.
Beer and soft drinks available to buy on site
Recommend Mylands Nature - great daily specials
Oleander - is also good, nice atmosphere

Cirali - things to do:
Visit the Chimaera, Olympos ruins, market at Kumluca worth a trip - very colourful and fun to walk around
