“Wonderful location but poor plumbing and general comfort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Staying in Sighisoara is like staying in a film set or going back in time as it is a wonderful place. The hotel Casa Wagner has a prime location and all the rooms are quaint and different. However, the rooms vary considerably. The worst feature of the rooms in the attic is the plumbing which is very noisy indeed and kept everyone awake. The noise was appalling. In the morning we complained to the people on reception but they really were not bothered. Meals in the evening were served in record time - no chance to relax over supper. However, it was cheap so can't complain too much.

Room Tip: Where ever you stay there is bound to be a dog that barks all night. Some beds do not have the head...

We had a 3 Star room overlooking the square/street.
An almost sleepless night!
One window had no curtain! Two windows had poorly fitting windows. The bed was soggy and the headboard was propped up between the bed frame and the wall. The duvet was not wide enough for the bed
The bed room furniture was not fit for a jumble sale. Only one bedside lamp was provided.

The one bright spot was the Buffet Breakfast which even provided cold milk to have with your cereals!

Room Tip: Avoid a room overlooking the square if you want a quiet night. No lift in the building - carry your...

The hotel is located right in the old center of Sighisoara with a beautiful view of the old tower.
As the hotel is in an old house , the rooms and the location has an antique feel.
We stayed 4 night during new year period, and I can say the food was very good.
The breakfast is a buffet, were there are several dishes. But what was great , was the food at dinner, especially the Party for new-years.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Casa Wagner is a small hotel, more like a large old residential property converted in a boutique hotel for tourists in the historic town of Sighisoara, in Romania. The town boasts of an ancient clock tower, which continues to attract tourists; Dracula's birth place, a small house which has been converted into shop for souvenirs and tea and coffee. While the town was a disappointment, the hotel was OK, providing friendly service but so-so breakfast. The property does not have elevator but the staff helped with the bags.

Casa Wagner is one of the two family hotels, other being in Brasov, Romania. It is a small friendly hotel, appropriately and most conveniently located in the middle of all the tourist sites in this historical town.We could see most of it from our window.
The rooms are good sized, well appointed, neat and clean.
The management is friendly and helpful. Fortunately language was not a problem

We stayed at Hotel Casa Wagner for 2 nights on a recent Intrepid tour through Eastern Europe. The hotel is in a great spot, right in the centre of town. Our room was beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable, though a little dusty and dated. Staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was OK. We had free wifi during our stay too which was great. Overall we would definitely recommend Hotel Casa Wagner as the place to stay if you're visiting Sighisoara.

I happened upon this hotel as suggested by a friend of mine as part of a private tour. After touring and seeing the sights of Transylvania at a breakneck speed, Casa Wagner was a nice place to rest for a quiet evening of reflection of the days events. The staff was polite and courteous and made us feel welcomed from the minute we stepped in the door. A rustic (in a nice way) atmosphere helped you get into the mood of spending a night in a historic citadel a few buildings away from where Vlad Tepes was born. The rooms were clean and orderly and had a homey feeling and were very roomy and cozy. The breakfast was basic with eggs, cheese, and meat and was fine but not extravagant. Centrally located in the fortified city, a wonderful experience at a wonderful price!

Room Tip: Get a room in the back of the hotel for a quiet nights rest. Take a stroll up to the cemetery at nig...
