“Should be 5/5”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

This is a really good hotel. Good location, good food, good service. However, on our last night there was a private function in the basement and although our room was on the 2nd floor the music was so that it kept us awake. As if this was not frustrating enough, our bedroom was above the front door so had everybody gathering outside the front door, laughing and smoking until 2.30am. The prime function of a hotel is to provide a place to sleep and unfortunately on that night, sleeping was an impossibility, hence the 2/5!

The hotel has rooms on two sides. One side is with view over the fortress and the other one with view over the hotel restaurant. The restaurant is organising live music in the evening which can be heard perfectly from the room (the rooms are not sound isolated). When the live music is over (12 midnight) you still can hear the music from the restaurant. It's impossible to sleep in that noise!!!! I advise everybody who is not interested to stay awake until 3 am in the morning to avoid this place.
In case you want to pick the room with the view to the fortress to be able to sleep, think twice because there are a lot of festivals organised in Sighisoara with the stage close to the sighisoara hotel.
As from the owner, I think it's a huge lack of respect towards his clients to offer such conditions...

Room Tip: There is no room from where you can rest and not hear the loud music in the night!!! Suggested to av...

Perfect location in the upper middle-aged historic center of Sighishoara. Clean and spacious rooms, in an awesome building. Nice staff.

A good place to have dinner, if you do not mind to wait for the food nearly one hour.

We had top floor room in end of the building which meant bit uncomfortable showering due to ceiling. Room was spacious and clean with air condition and good views. Breakfast was good basic continental one. Good value for money and definitely would go again.

We had one night in this spacious hotel which is situated inside the fortified city. It is central to all the sights. The staff were friendly, the restaurant quite classy ,yet affordable. A huge Greek salad cost $3. We asked for twin beds which gave us a slightly bigger room. Breakfast was very good. Well recommend. If only they had a lift.

Room Tip: Ask for twin beds, the rooms are bigger.

Located within the ancient walled city of Sighisoara and only a block from where Vlad the Impaler was born, Hotel Sighisoara operates in building that dates back to the 1600's. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It featured vaulted ceilings and furnishings appropriate so as to provide an authentic Transylvania experience.

The rooms are not air-conditioned, but the weather is temperate enough, it's not required. However, the windows open onto a cobble-stoned city square and street noise would likely disturb light sleepers.

The real stand-out feature of this hotel is its service. The folks and staff who run it are more than helpful, gracious, and friendly. These are some of the finest hoteliers and people you'll ever come across.
