Pension am Schneiderturm is one of those places you immediately want everybody know about it. Next to one of the city gates, this is a quiet place to rest when you visit Sighisoara very well located inside the city walls and just steps away from all the buzz of the main square. Although with very small common areas, it is nicely decorated and clean.
As for the room, we stayed in the Junior suite for a moderate 65 euros, good value for money given the size of the room and the huge bathroom (a shower for 3 people at least :) as well as the firm and comfortable mattress. Previous reviews comment on the small size of rooms: this is not certainly the case of the Junior suite. TV with many international channels and free wireless Internet connection working really fast were also part of the package. We visited the city during the medieval festival and even the many visitors, the night street shows, etc. the place was very calm and therefore the sleep quality was excellent.
The owner was extremely friendly and very helpful.
As for the breakfast, it deserves a separate chapter... It is without out a doubt the best one I have ever had in a hotel, including many 5 star ones and of course all the 4 star hotels I know. The choices are so many that you need a week to taste them all! Composed of local products from the surrounding villages, you will find a nice variety of fruits that really taste like what they are (try the superb apricots), fruit juices, cheeses (more than 15 different types to choose!), salami, bread, several types of honey and jam... Simply unbeatable.
