Convinced by my guide to try this hotel, I decided to do so for a night (my original hotel didn't really make a fuss about a sudden cancellation of a night's stay..which was a good thing).
This hotel is located along the end of the main street (which can get pretty crowded) but Sapa town is quite small anyway so most places are within comfortable walking distances.
On first impressions, the hotel seemed dusty and the room was quite simple. It had a door that opened to a common balcony outside, which means you can enter other people's rooms from their balcony doors as well (so do latch your balcony door properly at night). There was some construction going on nearby so it was dusty and noisy in the daytime. Not exactly conducive to plans for outdoor terrace relaxation.
Room was smaller than the room I had at Sapa luxury, and it didn't have a computer in the room either, but that isn't a big issue.
Somehow I felt the view was also better at Sapa Luxury, although it's pretty good here too. Maybe that's because my room was at the end of the corridor, if you had rooms more to the front of the corridor, I think you would have better views of the hills and valleys.
The one very good thing about this room was that it was warmer than Sapa Luxury. (Maybe due to a different kind of flooring?). Beds are comfortable, showers are hot and breakfast was good too. Feels like they have sufficient staff (as compared to Sapa Luxury) and you do get to choose a proper breakfast from a menu in the big breakfast room downstairs.
The manager was friendly, and I guess you could arrange for transportation/tours through them.
All in all, apart from being a lil dusty outside, for their prices, I can't find much to complain about this place as I had a satisfied stay.
