The place is good, like alot in Sapa. I only stayed here but can only feel that they charge a little more for their view. It is amazing. Ask for a floor above 5 ( this is receptions floor) we had a room on the 6th floor and when it was clear the views were awesome. The waiting room is purely for people arriving early and leaving late. Really helps out as you can shower before and after, relax and play pool. The hotel is very close to shops and restaurants, go to the markets and eat the street food, it's soo cheap and cool to eat with the locals.

This hotel is in a good location,very easy to walk anywhere in town.The breakfast was okay but nothing special.Our room had nice views out to the hillside. A little noisey because of a road and motorbikes running behind our room but it did quieten down at night.
We tried to have a manicure/pedicure at the hotel-we were directed to a waiting area and told someone would be there in about 15 mins.We waited 30mins using the computers to kill time but nobody ever come to give us our manicure/pedicure. We left and went to the massage place on the corner which had friendly staff and was cheaperand more efficent than the hotel .

We stayed at Chau Long for 2 nights in October. The hotel is huge and has a great location. If you are lucky to get a room on the 5th or 6th floor, you will have a wonderful mountain view from your window. But we weren't. There are lots of facilities available. For instance, a waiting room where early arrivers can take a shower and relax while waiting. However the 'free shower' in the waiting room smells of urine badly.

Our room was on the 2nd floor next to the laundry. It was rather damp (thus smelly), dusty, there was no Internet connection and no aircon (only a ceiling fan). Moreover, there was almost no cellular signal there. Our showers have never been so excitng: with water unexpectedly switching from warm to boiling hot or freezing cold you have to be ready to jump out of it for fear of being frozen or, worse, burnt to death.

Although fairly clean, the towels had weird yellow stains on them. Some toiletries were missing from the boxes (the shower cap for instance).

The hotel itself looks slightly rundown and is generally not cosy. It is objectively too expensive for the quality and service you get. The restaurant is overpriced. The breakfast buffet was OK though.

The Chau Long Sapa Hotel New Wing totally captivated me. Even though my stay was marred somewhat by the failure of staff to check my room before I was given a key, the setting, the view and the locale were so stupendous that the glitches were minor in comparison to the overall experience. Every room (including mine) had a view of the Fansipan Mountain Range and glamour-style furnishings and furniture. Still, upon arrival in my room, I found water on the floor from the leaking mini-fridge, one of two lamps not working and the other lamp with a frayed electrical wire which caused it to go on and off without being touched and no in-room internet. Internet and wifi were available in a large lounge room with lots of computers for guests' use. There were also 3 separate electrical outages. These inconveniences just did not matter much when taken in context of the awe inspiring layout of the hotel, the nearby mountains, the clouds parting, the ambience. So, even though not up to modern day hotelery, I do recommend this hotel which inspires that once-in-a-lifetime feeling while you are a guest. Breakfast buffet has lots of variety. Glad I did not get electrocuted, though. The staff was gracious.
