“SaPa is a must see of Vietnam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

Sapa is definitelly a must see. Best of North Vietnam for sure. I stayed here 2 nights with my wife. We took also the victoria train from Hanoi (which is expensive however for the overnight travel and being fresh in the morning for Sapa experience it was well worth it).
Hotel is nice however nothing fantastic. Room is quite old fashion but having the local feel. I must say that the walls are very thin an you here sounds feom neighbours that you dont always need to hear :).
Overall Sapa was the highlight of Vietnam for us
I would return to this hotel for sure again

Lives up to expectations. Beautiful hotel - wonderful to see open fires in Vietnam when you are used to the hot and steamy south of the country. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Excellent restaurant and friendly well-trained staff. You certainly get what you pay for. It's a bit isolated from the rest of the town by the steep road to get there. Be wary of the track up to the spa. It's very slippery. If your balance is a bit off, as mine is, then my advice is to take the buggy. I didn't and took a nasty tumble.

Dear JinSaigon,

Thank you very much for your interest in our hotel, and your best rating.
Indeed Sapa is probably one of the most pleasant temperature around in Vietnam, and back in time, recognized to be a relaxing and healing location.
Looking forward to your next refreshing stay, our Team will be ready to welcome you back in the Tonkin Alps.

Friends told us that we had to visit Sapa when we were in Hanoi, so we took a very rickety overnight train ride to Sapa to discover a wonderful resort and spa at the top of the mountain. This is an older property, but extremely well maintained with a new spa and pool facility. It's located at the edge of the town, so there isn't any traffic noise. Very relaxing indeed. We were able to take a tour of one of the local minorities which was one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam.

We definitely enjoyed our experience at the Victoria Sapa. We were a little upset at first because they did not have our room ready in time and we did not sleep well on the train. Otherwise, it was great! The spa was good and it was very fun learning how to weave!

Dear JRWalker,

We are very glad to know you enjoyed your stay with us during your Sapa visit.
The train can indeed be a short night sleep as the railway is historic, a bit of movement is expectable. Our Victoria Express Train team is promptly ready to improve your rail experience, and opting for a massage or a scrub in the early morning would be delightful.
Looking forward to host you again,

Best regards,

The hotel is on a hill overlooking Sapa, but within easy walking distance from the town, which has lots to explore. The hotel is very clean & comfortable, with very nice restaurants. The staff are friendly.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 2nd floor which had good views.

We took the overnight Victoria Express Train to Sapa and it was a fantastic experience! Arriving at the train station in Hanoi was a little confusing and stressful but once on the train we were delighted. The hour drive up into Sapa was a little harrowing considering I hate heights so I was unable to enjoy the amazing scenery and view. Once arriving at the hotel it was a breeze to check in and we were placed in a large lovely family room (were were on holidays with our daughter so there were 3 of us). The rooms were large, clean and had the most amazing view over Sapa. I still can not get over our view and the clouds rolling in. The only small negative I can add to this hotel is that the food was not as good as the food you could get at the cheaper restaurants around Sapa. Also, the spa needs something, it just wasn't up to par in comparison to others we have experienced. We visited in July and stayed for 3 nights/4 days and would love to visit this hotel in the cooler months and stay longer. There was so much to see and do. Walking through the minority villages in the mountains, the markets within Sapa, sitting in a favourite little restaurant& watching the clouds roll in and experiencing Karoke with the locals was the highlight of our month in Vietnam. Sapa is a must and this hotel is lovely. Also, the train on the way home we left personal items underneath one of the bunks, we were totally unaware. Victoria Express found them and had our tour co. (Indo China) return them to our Hanoi Hotel. THANK YOU :-)

Room Tip: The large family rooms with large balconys that look over Sapa! Great value

Looking forward to your next visit, we will keep training and improving our services, including our Spa and our restaurant, and would like to welcome you back for a fusion dinner prepared by our French Chef and for another Spa delicacy.

We only stayed one night at this lovely hotel but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful with a balcony that faced the lovely gardens. The tour desk organised a trek for us to visit the Hmong villages of Loa Chi and Ta Van. Our guide was Lo Thi Mo - a very knowledgeable and delightful guide who I would recommend. The hotel offers use of the pool and showers etc which is great given that the train back to Hanoi does not go until the evening - and there is no charge for this. I do agree with others though, charging for a cappuccino at breakfast is not what you expect in a hotel of this class. Other than this, a great experience and wish we could have stayed longer.

Dear Bellisimoc,

On the behalf of our Team, thank you for sharing your kind comment with further travelers.
It is a deep satisfaction to read your experience exploring the area, our tour/trek organizer partner is working with local guides who are holding the most precise knowledge about this fantastic region.
Indeed, included into your night stay, you have had open access to our swimming pool area, sauna, steam bath, changing rooms, etc.
After a long day trekking the Tonkin Alps, our guests can eventually refresh and use our facilities before taking the overnight train back to Hanoi. Our Spa packages are as well recommended, in order to start your trip back in the most relaxed mood!
We would be more than happy to welcome you again in our property.
