“Nice hotel with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

This hotel is located on the hill up from the main town so it has nice views over the town and of the mountains. The room we had was large with a comfortable large bed. There is a safe and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The wifi worked well.
The staff are very helpful.
We had trouble getting the shower to work properly. It looks good with a smart glass screen but we only got a very cold dribble or a very hot dribble. We ended up having a wash using the wash basin. This wasn't ideal but at least there was hot water at the basin.
Besides this it was a very nice hotel.

this hotel gets a better rating because it is in Sapa, fairly remote, hours away from Hanoi but considering that it is a good hotel, close by the market, the different walking trails, ...

we had the chance to get the room with roof terrace, which makes the place a nicer stay. because of the view on the mountains surrounding this little village
so if it's free try to get it (first floor) - other rooms have small balconies

staff is friendly and helpful, bathrooms are big and have al the basics, free wifi in the lobby, ... makes this hotel a good and affordable choice

(but if this hotel we're to lie in Hanoi, I'm sure it would get les enthusiastic ratings)

Room Tip: ask for rooms with roof-terrace

Very friendly staff, nice view (if it's not too foggy), and large rooms with balconies. Probably the best value for money in Sapa. One note-google maps does not have the right location so it's a bit difficult to find within the city, but it's on the same small road as the Victorian hotel. It is a good location. Breakfast is nice because there is a menu with choice (but not that much choice). Bathroom is clean, bed was large and comfortable.

The Sapa Elegance Hotel has about all you could ask for. We had a triple room booked and
it turned out to be a two bedroom suite (room 401) with a king bed in one room and two doubles in the other. The bathroom had a terrific shower with abundant hot water. The rooms were verynicely furnished, TV, fridge, coffe/tea maker and lots of shelf space. Wooden floors and great views added character.
The very high level of dampness present in Sapa was offset by a de-
humidifier. The room was $49.50 (USD) per night for 3 and it included a very nice breakfast.
The staff was very accommodating, going out of their way to provide us with rain gear or
directions or what ATM was the best to use (there's only one in Sapa). We had the name and phone number of a Hmong guide that was recommended to us in HCMC and the lady at the desk (Dung-Dung) contacted her by phone and arranged for her to meet us at the hotel.
The hotel is about a 7 minute walk to the main drag (all downhill), is very secure (in-room
safe) and spotlessly clean. Would stay there again and recommend it highly.

Room Tip: No elevator, but the higher you are the better the views. If you are not pretty fit there's no s...

Lovely feel to this hotel. Has a "local" flavour and style, easy and comfortable. Perched on a hill at edge of town centre, it's walking distance to anywhere in town. It's about a 3 star Aussie standard hotel but is well kept and given its "in the country", it's very do-able. Try to get a room up high with a balcony; you'll love the view! We chose to stay a second night.

The lady in front desk is very helpful and all staff are chatty and nice. Breakfast was included but very limited choice after a few days you are over it.

Rooms are big and set our with nice furniture. We were place right by the new rooms the are building which was a bit if a pain, noisy and dust in room if we has the doors open. One the second night scaffolding was put on our balcony and a mn was pretty much in our room. That was a biting so we asked to move and they found us a bigger room on another floor right away. No complaints there very good.

If you come just make sure you get a room away from the builders.

We had A quick look at a few other places in town and found the White Orchard or White somthing and they were new and had rooms for $15 to $30 and they were very nice. The $30 room there I think is nicer than he $30 we are paying here and that is their cheapest rate. Wouldn't want to pay more for these rooms.

We stayed here in early May 2012 for 3 nights and found it to be be a good place to stay. We liked the position, just back from the main street, but with views over part of the town and then to the mountains beyond. It was nice to get away a little and it was fairly quiet with the only traffic going up to the Victoria Resort which is further up an access road going past the Elegance.
The room was very large, which was nice as we did spend some time here as we drew our chairs up to the french door & balcony to enjoy the outlook and cool air. The very large bed was very firm, so we slept on one of the thick doonas and used the other over us, this proved effective for a more comfortable sleep. The wifi was hopeless in our room, but good in the foyer/b'fast area. There are no computers available for use if you don't have your own (or if there was no one told me and I couldn't see one).
The breakfast was adequate and staff dealt with our needs quickly- laundry, minivan to Lao Cai. There was no fridge in the room, or aircon, heater or ceiling fan. I would check what they offer when it is colder, maybe they put heaters in the rooms. It was quite warm one night and we had to leave the french door open. As no screen we hoped there were no mosquitoes. The other nights were much cooler and we were very comfortable. If you don't have tours arranged they are able to do it all for you which all hotels offer I believe, we had made our own arrangements prior to arriving so did not use.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view as the outlook is lovely.
