“Lovely hotel - but no lift”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Booked 2 rooms and stayed here 1 night with family. Love the deluxe garden view room which oversees bamboo trees. It's on the 4th floor and you have to walk through an open area to get there. Quite isolated but unique feel. The other room was upgraded to mountain view for free, on the 2nd floor. Awesome view of the Fansipan peak in the morning! Do note that there is no lift in this hotel. Access by stairs only.

Love the clean and nicely decorated rooms. Rooms appear new and well-maintained. Electric blankets available. Fireplace not in use as it was not cold enough. Rain showerhead available in bathrooms - water pressure could be higher - but sufficient considering the hotel size and being located on a mountain.

Walking distance to Sapa town. Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly. No complaints. Overall excellent experience.

“This Hotel can be a real treat”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

We, a group of five friends, stayed at this hotel on the night of Dec. 30, 2012. The first impression is great. Beautiful internal design, spacious homely sitting room and great location. However, we quickly realized that the hotel does not have an elevator and although the baggage was carried up and down by the staff, there were people who had difficulty climbing the stairs to the fourth floor, from which by the way, you had an awesome view. Moreover, the rooms were not heated. It turned out that the rooms have fireplaces but with the weather at the time of our visit, the fireplaces had to be 'on' for 24 hours in order for them to possibly make the rooms comfortable after a day out in a temp of 5- 10 C. But then, when we arrived, the fire places were not 'on' and it took the staff a good hour to bring the wood and get them started. Even then it was not such fun since the odor, or smoke, was felt in the room, not to mention the fact that we did not plan on feeding woods throughout our stay. Yes, there are electric heaters on the beds but you really do not want to spend the night with them 'on'. As other viewers wrote, this is a lovely place to stay but not in the winter and not on the top floors if you mind climbing up stairs. What a pity

“Good location and great views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We stayed here 2 nights in January 2013. The room was pleasant but on the 4th floor with no lift. The weather was cold when we arrived and there is no heating in the bedrooms apart from an open fire which the hotel lit for us but it did not give off a lot of heat. Bed had electric blanket which warmed us up. The room was not properly maintained. The handles were hanging off one of the doors to the balcony, the electric blanket only worked on one side of the bed and the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work. The bathroom was probably ready for a face lift. Breakfast was included but was only very average. Positives - the staff were very friendly and helpful, great views from our room of the mountains (we paid extra for a mountain view) and location was good for us - about 5 minutes walk to the main area of bars and restaurants.

“Great for family!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for two nights, the family room was great with mountain view. No air-con and the room with lots of free space that make our room be empty but the great fireplace made it more warm and comfortable in cold weather.Lovely breakfast at restaurant was a highlight Also, hotel manager was helful and attentive, too, he told us many stories about Sapa and local life. Great hotel and would recommend!!!

“A Lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

This is a delightful hotel and has a real family run feel to it. It is located a short walk from the centre of town so it's location is very peaceful and quiet yet not too far from where all the action is.The staff are amazingly friendly and obliging. The rooms are well appointed with alot of wood and ethnic craftwork incorporated in the decor. We were very charmed by the quiet consideration shown when upon seeing the "grey hair" our 5th floor room key was discretely swapped for a 3rd floor room . Little did they know that we are fit sailors and the 2 extra flights of stairs were not a problem especially given the view from the 5th floor room !.Once the Cloud ocean disappeared it was absolutely stunning , however, watching the town and the valley below being covered and then uncovered by clouds had an unique atmosphere of its own.
By the time we got to Sapa we had been travelling for 3 weeks so a laundry session was sorely needed. This was done very cheaply and quickly by the hotel.
Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to eat in the resturant in the evening but the Pho Ga for breakfast was excellent.
I would be very happy to stay there again

Room Tip: Worth the extra stairs for a room with a view. This place would be a problem for people who are disa...
