“Surrounding Nature Terrain Rice Fields”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

On the first day of our 2 hours light trekking, weather was cold and a bit drizzling. Change better at about 10.00am, is best wear wind breaker as it can be wet. In this village most of them is Miao clan and is good buy 1-2 dozen of sweets to give it to the children as they are really poor. Buy some homemade things from them just to make ends meet, fresh air and beautiful landscape.

“Great Walking, Great Guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

Visited Sapa in February which, I suspect, isn't the best month to chose. Quite cold and a bit damp and misty at times (although nothing compared to Manchester!). Some of the views were obscured at times but enough of the negatives as they were well outweighed by the fantastic scenery and the fascinating insight into a totally different culture. We were there for 3 days, 2 nights and the town has the feel of a ski resort without the snow. Good choice of restaurants (the hotpot for two is recommended) and a very interesting market. The highlight of our trip though was the trekking between villages, made all the better by our guide, Cuong, who was very knowledgable, genuinely friendly and even made the stiffer climbs fun. He works for a company called Vega Travel in Hanoi and is an absolute credit to them. We booked the whole Sapa trip through Vega (train, hotel and tour) before we left UK and they were very efficient and accommodating (we also went to Halong Bay with them).

“Amazing experience - well worth a longer trek”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

I am by no stretch of the imagination a 'hiker' but I loved every minute of this. Would thoroughly recommend the longer/harder trek - I didn't even notice the ache until the next day I was having too much fun enjoying the views and skidding down the mud with the help of the people of the H'mong tribe.

“Amazing place!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

We had the best day trekking Sapa by our selfs. When you get to cat cat and pay 40.000 d entering fee you head down the souvenir stands and before turning wright down to the first waterfall you turn left instead. There is a small trek which you can see.. Follow that trek and it takes you through an amazing landscapes and rice fields. Walk around 3-4 hours and you reach Lao chai and if you walk another hour the trek takes you to Ta van. Highly recommend this trek and it was no tourist on it. Only local people who was very helpful. We stayed at Pinocchio hotel and it was only $12 a night for both of us. Ask for room 404!!! Amazing view overlooking the mountains :).
