“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We stayed for three days two nights made all tour arrangements through the hotel, it was great they took care of us with every step. Prices and food offering for breakfast were some of the best we experienced in northern Vietnam. If you have never been to Sapa you must do it once in your life. It's an amazing place filled with wonderful people, and almost everyone speaks English and American dollars are taken everywhere.

Room Tip: If you can make the flights of stairs stay up high for the best view we were on the third floor that...

Spent four nights from 7th to 11th February, 2013 in this lovely hotel. We arrived in glorious sunshine which stayed with us for three days. This hotel is excellent and the views from our top front bedrooms were unparalleled. We were allowed to use our rooms from 6.30am when we got off the night train. The owner and staff were great and very welcoming. Breakfast very good and bedrooms comfortable with constant hot water which made our stay memorable. We stayed in rooms 308 and 306 which we found excellent

Room Tip: The rooms with balconies, even though a little more money, give you excellent views over the valley...

Don't let the name fool you, no America would actually consider this luxury but you are traveling to a tiny village in rural Vietnam! The hotel was decent. The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was great. The views are excellent. We spent some time walking around the town, which is small, and everything is in walking distance. The hotel is clean, but old. Our sheets had holes in them so we slept on sleeping bags we had. The room was clean and large. There was a computer with internet in our room which was really nice to have. There was also a fan. We traveled there at the end of June, and while it was very hot and humid during the day, the mountain nights were nice and cool so we did not need the fan. If you are going to Vietnam, Sapa is a must, in my opinion.

Keep in mind that the hotel has no heating and it's cold in Sapa, only has a electric stoves that give more light than heat in the room must be dressed in street clothes. The bathroom has a vent opening through which enters the cold and the shower has you risk catching a cold.. In the summer months this is not an issue, but if winter is a inconvenient

Spent three nights from 24 to 27 Jan 13 and had a great time despite the clouds. Sapa being a remote Vietnamese mountain town, electricity supply is limited and no hotel offers the kind of heating systems expected in North America. Sapa Luxury Hotel, like most other hotels in Sapa uses portable radiant electrical heaters but, in addition, also uses heating mattresses that keep you warm despite the very humid climate.

Room Tip: Try booking rooms with a view as some of the back rooms do not have windows facing outside the build...

Arrived in Sapa early in the morning, hotel was not booked yet so we had time to explore the area and to see two rooms of different other places before enjoying the Sapa Luxury Hotel.
As soon as we saw the room we wanted it because of its big seize also because of the electric heating system of both room and bed. It was January and there were 4 degrees Celsius but we did feel very comfortable and warm.
The hotel has breakfast and a big terrace facing the paddy fields which unfortunately we did see due to the foggy weather conditions of those days.
The nicest part of this place, in addiction to its location just in the heart of the village, are the people who are managing it. They are amongst the most welcoming persons we met in Vietnam.
We would like to come back one day soon!

We arrived in Dec 2012 by early morning train. Were picked up at the station as promissed. Were served breakfast and at 8am start hiking with the local guide arranged by hotel. The room was not ready when we arrived but it was expected. When we returned from the hiking we got our room on 3d floor with the view of the mountains. Room was very big, as well as the bathroom ( it was middle category room, what we booked, but were upgraded to VIP)
Breakfast plentyfull and tasteful. Hotel arranged all our trips and hikings.
Location is half a block from the market and central plaza and on the way to Cat Cat village- no tour needed here, easy walk down, with georgeus views Last day when the train leaves in the evening, we could use their showers/towels ect before the trip after day of touring- nive touch
Sapa is compact, very clean safe and nice. People from colorful Hill Tribes add the charm
Fantastic service and advice from receptionist who wanted to be calld 007.
We would stay here again if come back to Sapa,

Room Tip: it is worth to pay a little more for upgraded room. We had street view but it was quiet, and we had...
