“Room with a view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Cheaper than the hotel we'd come to look at which was over the road. If you're prepared to climb (no lifts) you can have a $15 twin room with decent shower and the most spectacular view of Fansipan imaginable. Clean and basic but cheap and the staff were so helpful ("nothing is impossible"). Arranged a great trip to Bac Ha market. On the main drag with loads of good eateries around. Rooms have open wood fires but we didn't risk ours!

Room Tip: If you can cope with the climb go for higher floor and ask for a view of Fansipan and then pray for...

We stayed here one night and found this hotel terrific value at 8 dollars a night.

A clean room, hot water and a great little balcony made the stay very enjoyable.

The real highlight are the staff who are super friendly, helpful and always greet you with a smile!

Definitely stay here again.

If the room was absolutely terrible i would still have stayed here just because of the staff! The owner is really friendly and will go out of his way to make your stay as brilliant as possible. He speaks great English and gives you the best value for money. He can also organise homestay, buses and trains out of sapa for a reasonable price.

The room is lovely and some even have a fireplace to keep you warm on the cold evenings!
The location is very central with plenty of nice restaurants to pick from (the hotel also has a restaurant which serves good, reasonably price food).

If you want a local family-run special experience without even leaving for a tribe homestay this is the place to stay.

Don't book this hotel. They promise you pick up from the train station and then you will be waiting there for an hour with nobody ever showing up. Once in the hotel you are told that yours is the only room they have available and it is 15 dollars. Later you overhear conversations where a room like yours is offered to 2 persons at 7 dollars. Talking to the owner about it just causes him to shrugg it off. I made the booking for the night train with them for a lower bunk which I have to pay extra for ending up in an upper bunk getting to the train station and not on the train that I had requested. But you will only find out about that at the train station because at the hotel they only issue at voucher.
If you want to experience a lady selling tours lying on her desk with her upper body looking at you all bored then this is just the place to go. Sorry no better review.. But there seem to be better offers in town.

Good cheap room at the top with a nice view. Staff varied between friendly and welcoming to distant and rude. Good breakfasts.

I stayed here for one night during a whirlwind trip to Sapa. The room was very cold (a heater would've cost $4 more on top of my $18 room charge) but I was fine with an extra blanket. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and organised with good English. No breakfast included but you can pay $2 if you want to eat this at the hotel. There was lots of hot water and my room would've had a nice view (partially obscured by rooftops) if it wasn't so misty! I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are a little noisy.

I stayed 2 nights and paid $18 for a double room. Great hot water and everything clean and in working order. Pretty chilly at night however and at the time of my stay there was no heater offered. I found the staff, and in particular the housekeeping staff, really sweet and helpful. Overall, the location was a winner and I felt safe as a solo traveller. I suspect there may be slightly nicer options at this price level though.
