“dinner after horse riding”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We were starving after a long horse ride and decided to eat before driving up to Ubud and so chose Red Salt as it was nearby. Food took 45minutes to come and only after 3 meals had arrived did they tell us my daughter's choice wasn't available. We hadn't eaten all day so scoffed what we could and daughter ate later. Alas the 3 who ate all had bad bellies the next few days and so the finger has to point to our Red Salt meal. Shame as everyone else seems to have such good experience here

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your visit to RedSalt Cafe. It is unfortunate that you were sick during your trip to Bali.
Our Chef has over 10 years experience in Australia and is fully qualified in food handling & safety proceedures. All of our supplies are purchased fresh daily from reputable suppliers.

“New Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Red Salt is quite a new restaurant in the area with a nice open area overlooking rice paddies as well as a pool area for private functions, the food is good quality with the restaurant being owned and run by a returning Balinese who has spent many years in Australia and his Australian Bule wife. We ate there on a number of occasions, the food was good quality and if I have one comment for improvement to them it would be to improve speed of service a little. When we are next in Bali, we will return though.

“Hidden treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We arrived in Canggu from Seminyak after reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor for nice restaurants in the area and decided to try and find Red Salt. The sign off the mail road says 300m, but I'm sure its further than that and not well sign posted due to the village rules, but worth walking the distance. Keep on the main road over the bridge and you'll find it nestled in amongst the rice paddies. You arrive to friendly staff a lovely pool out the back to cool down in and then sit overlooking the view and enjoy a fabulous lunch which cost us AUD$9 including 2 Bintang!! The owners are very welcoming and keen to please.

“Beautiful Sunset over the rice paddies with great food to match”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

We walked into the open air restaurant after horse riding on nearby echo beach just in time to catch the sun turn the sky red as it set over the surrounding rice paddies. We received excellent service and the food was very well priced and tasted excellent.

The atmosphere at Redsalt was very peaceable and it offers a beautiful way to grab some lunch or wind down a day exploring Echo Beach. As a relatively new venture it is not ideally signposted, a work in progress according to the manager but it is definitely worth the effort!

Special thanks to Wayan the owner who went above and beyond when we realised we were low on cash; he courteously offered to drive me to the nearest ATM on the back of his moped! A true gentleman. We are definitely heading back for breakfast tomorrow, a meal which I am sure will be equally enjoyable and affordable without sacrificing on quality.
