We booked two sea facing rooms. its virtually on the light house beach. Location can't be better than it. It had taken 50 minutes and 3 reminders to get 1 water bottle from them.. the worst service I have found till today.

My husband and I stayed at Jeevan's on 25th-27th September 2012. We had not booked and arrived after having checked out of another hotel nearby. The resort was quiet as it was not quite season, so there was some work being carried out on the restaurant. However, this was not an issue and it was good to see the hotel making an effort to improve the place.
Our room was on the 1st floor, overlooked the beach. We had a very enjoyable stay here - the room was clean, the pool was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. there are plenty of restaurants/bars closeby.
We really enjoyed our stay at Jeevan's and would stay there again should we visit the area in the future.

Room Tip: we had a room on the first floor, with a balcony overlooking the beach - perfect!

visited august 2011, so its been a while. first thing, kovalam is probably not the place to visit in august. the monsoon was done but there were still enough showers to make the place cloudy. that's fine too, although i generally like my beaches to be hot and sunny. the main problem is that due to the monsoon, there is almost no beach, it is just 5 ft wide and the sand is all black. its probably not sand, a sand-mud mix. with the huge amounts of rain that kovalam probably sees in monsoon, there is probably a lot of beach erosion and you need to wait for the sun to come out for a few months to restore the beaches to their golden sands. so, we were a little disappointed with kovalam, although that is no fault of jeevan.the other problem with a narrow beach is that beach space is limited and the entire place seems more crowded than it is. of course, have leering local dogs and teenage boys (not much difference in their mental capacities) made the place feel a little seedy.
the problem with jeevan is that the owner stays in UK, promptly answers your mails etc, but when you reach kovalam, you are at the mercy of the locals. despite a dozen reminders that we were a big group and needed a big car at the airport, they sent us an indica which barely sufficied. and they fleeced us 1000 bucks for that. and they didn;t seem the least bit bothered by it all.
the resort is run down, not much happening for it. there was trash outside the rooms, discarded refrigerators and furniture dotting the corridors. it can;t be called a resort, maybe a 2 star hotel. the location was great, from our balconies the ocean was literally 6 feet away, just the 5 ft beach strip separating us from the ocean. the rooms were ok, very musty smell and all the storage spaces were dirty. room service was also average. the place is ok, i guess, but just gives you an uncomfortable feeling and the result is that you can;t truly relax and let go.
the restaurant, del mar cafe, had great food and a nice enough ambience. they were quite nice and courteous too. the pool was not bad either, well maintained and clean.
there is no such thing as room service, the room is fairly tiny but has a nice balcony facing the ocean, and there is no TV or any such thing in the room. normally, we wouldn;t want or care about a tv, but for the kids it provides some entertainment as they try to put up with the adults wanting to travel and visit places and all.
all in all, great location but poorly maintained resort; maybe this was off-season and they couldn't muster up the enthusiasm to clean up the place. i want to go back to kovalam when the beaches are golden and the water safe enough to swim in, and hopefully more activities planned, but i most certainly won't be staying in jeevan. dozens of resorts there and i'll choose a more upscale one, so i can truly have a vacation and not worry about the grime surrounding me.

Room Tip: ask for an ocean facing room, thats the only saving grace.

We booked sea facing room in Jeevan Ayurvedic resort. But it is just a hotel, not any kind of resort.
Best thing is : It has sea facing room, and sea is just few meter from the room. So one can relax in balcony and enjoy the beach.
Resturant is a good one. Loved the fish biriyani they prepared.

On the downside rooms don't have TV, and no room service !!!
