“Wow!! what a room or was it a suite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We were upgraded to the business floor and our rooms were so big we were able to hold a full meeting and conference call with several people in my room and sitting in the "lounge" area. We were invited to the cocktail hour where there were some great finger foods and free flow of beer and wines which we all enjoyed. Location is great as you can walk outside to many choices of restaurants and styles (from Spanish to Local). The staff are really friendly and accommodating but the level of English was a surprise as I only met full English speakers in the business floor check in and lounge. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of food available and the ambience was quite nice.

Room Tip: get upgraded to the business floor and enjoy the huge rooms :-)

I Think the name should be Golden Crown Hotel Tianjin. I have bad experience with this hotel. The rate is not cheap compare with other same star hotel. I was given a room with broken air condition. the air condition switch is turn to 5 Degree Celcius, but the room is like sauna room. Try to open the window, but the window is not able to open one. Fix glass window. Thought this maybe the air condition just start working and need time to cool the room, then I take a stroll about 30 minutes around. When came back the room is still very hot. I Call the reception and complain about this then about 5 minutes a woman of room service come and check the air condition. According to her, all of the hotel air condition is like that. Even change to other room the air condition will be the same. How could this hotel sell high price room with this condition? Very shameful. I have travel almost all over the world, and this is the first experience to have room like this with 4 stars hotel. It is impossible for me to sleep with this condition then I come down to the reception and claim about this matter. Then they tried to move me to other room. According to the Lady Manager, this new room air condition is the same condition, but as the room was in the corner, then the room is cooler than current room. I have to choice but to accept the room. But I found out, that this new rooms air condition is working well. It is very shame for this hotel, try to sell room with not proper condition. Will never stay at this hotel again, maybe never come to this town again.

Room Tip: Better to choose other Hotel

Despite de nice name, and the golden outside windows, this Hotel deliver a very poor service level!
Almost of works whose dealing with the guests are not able to speack or understand english. The break fast is a no prepered for outsiders, no expresso, no ham, no variations of seeds. Finally the apartments maintenance state are very bad. The cost benefit balance is red.

Reminds me of Marriots in the USA "Just enough Service". This hotel is nice and all the employees are friendly. The hotel rooms are clean and the hotel rest. is not bad. (but there is much better food outside and cheapert too) The hotel has a great location and you can walk Tainjin famous parks from here, or take the bus to Nankai and Tainjin universities. There are other hotels in Tainjin that are a better value but is location is important to you than don't risk it and stay here. Train service now goes all the way to the new industrial area so travel is easy. The new train station is beautiful and easy to get to. BUT if you are coming into Tainjin Station prepare to waite for a cab. Try to go to the Tainjin needle tower you can get a birdseye view of how big this city is.

Room Tip: Higher rooms a MUCH better , less noise.

Nice, modern hotel downtown Tianjin. Very nice and friendly hotel staff. In walking distance are a few European style buildings (nice to look at) and an "antique" food street. Airport and also train station are not far away. The rooms are spacious. Our room was also kind of plushy. The business center lady didn't really speak English but in the end we got what we were asking for. All in all a good place to stay.

Stayed here twice in the last 4 months as it is on our Company's 'preferred' list. The Hotel lobby is fairly large and check-in is efficient although not particularly friendly. The bar is to the side of the lobby area, it can be pretty cold there & totally lacks atmosphere, however the bar staff are very attentative & efficient.

The rooms are OK - have all the basic amenities and seem fairly clean. Appearance wise they are a bit dull & not somewhere you'd want to spend much time in. Lighting not particularly good, need to have all the lights on to get the room decently lit. Internet connection good. Beds somewhat hard & found it difficult to get comfortable. Various restaurants in the Hotel, but only tried out two of them. The main breakfast restaurant is pretty small & as smoking is allowed the room tends to be filled with smog and not particularly pleasant to dine in. The breakfast choice & quality were fine and again the staff were very efficient. I arrived in one of the other restaurants fairly late one evening, struggled to find something suitable on the menu and had to rush my meal as I felt somewhat uncomfortable with all eyes on me, waiting for me to leave! During my last visit I took some colleagues along the road to the Renaissance as I could guarantee decent food in their restaurant.

In summary the Hotel is OK, nothing special though. Price wise they are pretty competitive. Staff are very efficient, but the place is not particularly friendly or comfortable and it is fairly low down on my 'prefered' list of places to stay in Tianjin.

  • Liked — Efficiency of staff
  • Disliked — Bedrooms - overall comfort

Very nice hotel and highly recommendable. Rooms are a bit small (compared to other chinese hotels) but furniture is new and hotel is in a very good shape. Breakfast is excellent with several choises (continental, Chinese and Japanese)
