This is the best B&B that i have ever had a chance to visit. Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful owners. The food was delicious and served with a smile.
I have stayed at the Alaskan Serenity Bed and Breakfast several times and I can't say enough about how enjoyable my visits have been. My fiancée and I always stay in the same room and it is very comfortable. I believe they name it the Floral room and it is in the main house and it has a great view of the lake. They have a hot tub which is right outside the back door from the room we stay in. The food we had in the mornings was fantastic and we had a great selection of teas and never ending pots of coffee. I have been there in the summer when you can canoe on the lake and that is as peaceful as life can get. I have also been there in the winter with several feet of snow was on the ground and we saw the northern lights from the deck of the bed an breakfast and it was something I will never forget. I have found the service to be excellent every time I visit.
Not being one who really prefers B&B's, my husband and I decided to stay here after getting a recommendation from a friend. The owners are very warm and inviting. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and very clean.
But this is not even why I loved it so much...the BREAKFASTS were the best I've ever had! I don't even eat breakfast (may be why I usually don't prefer B&B's) and this was fantastic. Everything was made from scratch. One morning we were served sticky buns and the other we had homemade granola with yoghurt and honey. There was always fresh baked bread. On our last morning we had an early flight so they sent up a breakfast that we could eat on our own by heating in the microwave. The pancakes took the cake, even after being microwaved.
The owners were very consientious about the environment and gave us so many good ideas for trips around the Peninsula.
Sitting in the hottub, we had moose walk right by as the loons called to us from the lake.
I can only imagine how magical it must be to stay here in an Alaskan winter with the Northern Lights sweeping overhead.
Thank you for giving me the best vacation in recent memory.
It was just okay but I was disappointed. The owner was not rude, but definitely not friendly. The breakfasts were not very tasteful, as they were cold and we had to warm them up in the microwave even though they just came down from upstairs. We ate on paper plates, tacky to say the least. Definitely nothing spectacular for food. No jam, extra butter, or extra syrup provided. We got up the second morning and had nothing but cold water for showers. No refund was even offered. Owner never did made eye contact with any of us. He is definitely in the wrong business. The cabin where we stayed was okay, but had lots of mold around the showers and sinks. Didn't expect that for $150/night. The location is beautiful however and it could be a real neat place to stay if the owner would make just a couple of upgrades and change his attitude.
The owner informed us when we arrived that we would be given no clean towels and must wash everything we used. (This is against sanitation b+b laws we found out). Our breakfasts were gross. We got cold waffles with hair on them. When we did ask for clean towels, the owner banged on our door and asked us "What is you people's PROBLEM?" He was so unbelievably rude and crazed. The room was cheap, overpriced, and it is obvious that they are more concerned with making money and not having to work hard than ensuring that their guests have a truly nice stay. We were appalled at the behavior of the owner and encourage people NOT to stay there and encourage that type of poor business practice. Also, there were huge black ants crawling in our bed and spiders everywhere.
