We had a great stay in these beautiful new chalets for two nights. Stillwaters Chalets are very nice; light and airy and simply seem to be built with a loving touch! It's a family operation, and Alaska hospitality comes thru loud and clear!
We stayed in the upstairs unit which could easily accommodate a family or two couples. There's a bath and oversize jetted tub in the upstairs loft master bedroom. Behind the living area there's either a king bed or two twins plus a bathroom with shower.
There's also a full kitchen. This is not a B&B so breakfast as such not included, however there's a jar of great coffee beans/grinder/deluxe coffee maker; some breakfast goodies and even popcorn! We were also happy to be able to do laundry which is right there in the Chalet!
Our friend stayed in the bottom unit called the Bear's Den. It was smaller; perfect for one or two people. There's a washer/dryer in this unit as well.
Stillwaters Chalets are right off the Sterling Hwy, however are still quiet; convenient to Soldotna; restaurants; and of course to fishing options on the Kenai River.
Make sure to read the information about massage services. I didn't see this till late in our stay so will have to try a massage next time we visit Alaska! This is a place we’ll want to stay in again, even if next time we don’t go fishing on the Kenai! Soldotna is a great central location where you can make day trips to the nice town of Kenai; even down to Homer and the other way, toward Seward to Coopers Landing.
This is a perfect choice for people who are looking for an affordable touch of class!
