“WaterFall Bed in Cabin 1”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Oh my gosh, cabin 1 has a king size bed that feels like you are sleeping on a waterfall. One half of the bed is fine but the other half slopes off at a sharp angle, aka The Waterfall Bed. We had to sleep perpendicular to the head of the bed. We told mgmt and they made a joke.
Family was in Cabin 2 and said bed was great.
2nd complaint: We arrived at 4:30 pm. The room was not ready. Waited another hour. No apology.
On the plus side: They made us a breakfast basket b/c their restaurant does not open until 8 am.
And we loved our server when we had dinner. The halibut was good.

First off, I wish to thank you for your business. I am totally confused on the bed, You are the first person in the three years we have been renting these cabins to complain about the bed. I receive many many compliments on our beds. My wife and I went over to check this bed out, laid it in ( probably a bit too long) found it to be quire comfortable. also check all around and under to see if anything was broken. All was in good working order. So you can see my wonder on the bed problem. As for your room not being ready on time that is completely our fault. The house keepers were overwhelmed that day. I do apologize if we were not up to your expectations and we will strive to improve

Located on a beautiful lake, and inclusive of a delicious breakfast, what more can you want??? The cabin was well-appointed (there was a leak issue with the toilet and sink, but hey!) and immaculate. There is some highway noise if you have a unit that backs to the road so if you're a light sleeper be aware. All in all a delightful stay.

We had two nights booked at the Summit Lodge prior to our Alaska cruise, (which was cancelled).
The cabins are wonderful. Beautifully decorated with nice amenities including a large satellite tv to end your day unwinding.
The food at the restaurant is fantastic. Every dish we had was well presented and delicious. A delight in the Alaskan wilderness.
The owners and staff are friendly and approachable. Thank you Marty and June.
Thanks also to Meghan, the owners daughter, and Karissa, for their help in trying to plan an alternative to our cancelled cruise.
In a nutshell, you gotta stay here! Halfway between Seward and Girdwood, there are alot of things to do. Wish we had more time, but we will be back!

Room Tip: Choose the cabins. The lodge rooms are smaller with limited amenities, but well priced if that is al...

My wife and I just stayed at Summit Lake for a week. It was perfectly located on the Kenai. We fished out of Seward, hiked on Exit Glacier, went to Russian River Falls, ate a Cooper landing, went to the Nature Conservatory and fished in Hope. The lodge was within 45 minutes of everything. The staff was most accommodating, the food was good and the lodge is owned and operated by a local couple that can give you much needed advice on what day trips you may be interested in. I would highly recommend to anyone.

And evidently popular also as we tried to book a cabin for 3 nights in a row at least 5 months before we needed one and they were unable to accommodate the request. We did get one for 2 nights and had to move to a lodge room the 3rd night. The cabins were
Nice and expensively decorated...but both of the high dollar faucets leaked in ours making the floor wet. We asked for maintenance and were told it has been a problem for awhile...so we just wrapped them with paper towels while we were there. The heater also alarmed that the filter needed changing so it shut off after one cycle and would not come back on without a manual restart....made for a cooler night than desired. A request to address this problem was also met with apathy. We actually looked forward to the change to a lodge room the 3rd night after a long day of adventure on the Kenai Fjords trip, and were fortunately too tired to care about the smell of open sewer line from the bathroom area..we also used a portable heater in this room because we didn't trust the maintenance of the gas wall heater. I would like to compliment the hearty breakfast provided each day...but it was not worth the price considering the other issues.

Seward was not attractive, so we found this lodge an hour north. We checked in at the restaurant/main building, then headed for the log cabin - room 5. We were concerned about rustic, but the room was very nice and comfortable - good bed and bathroom, but no TV. Free WiFi in the main building. The staff (mostly owner and family) was outstanding. The "free" breakfast was made to order, Restaurant style, and excellent.

The dinner/Restaurant was another gem - probably the best two meals in our week in Alaska from Seward to Fairbanks.

Room Tip: The mailing address is Moose Pass, but the facility is actually at Summit Lake, 16.6 miles north of...

Enjoyed staying here. The accommodations in Seward didn't appeal, so we ended up here. The room was probably the best of our week in Alaska, only complaint was that the walls were a bit thin. Otherwise, comfortable and perfectly fine. My favorite part was the included breakfast, which is made to order.
