This was our 1st restaurant we went to when we arrived on the island. The food was really good! I got the Chicken Udon Soup which was very yummy and the husband got Asian Beef dish that was very good as well. The coconut shrimp was actually better than we had while living in Hawaii! Our waitress was very pleasent and you had a nice view of boats going through the harbor. Nice place for the family or a group of friends. It's right on the harbor, doesn't look like a restaurant on the outside, but has a cool atmosphere inside and a huge mural painted on the wall, of Kodiak. Next time I will try the sushi, they have a sushi bar you can watch in the seating area of the restaurant.

I know it seems strange but the Old Powerhouse Restaurant has some of the best Japanese food I've had anywhere. We went there on Tuesday, 15 April 2008 for dinner and it was packed with locals, mostly eating sushi. I had the beef yakisoba and the seaweed salad, which was great. My friend had the teriyaki tuna, also very good. Great service, casual atmosphere and a great view of the water from the tables by the window. If you are in Kodiak, don't miss this great place.
